Leeds bands offered a chance to appear at Leeds 2010

The 40 bands for Futuresound 2010 have been revealed. Who will play the BBC Introducing Stage?

If you are in an unsigned band you’ve no doubt already read our festival guide for unsigned bands, which details how you can appear on one of the stages at the Leeds Music Festival. And earlier this year we gave out information about how your band could apply to play at Leeds 2010.

Hopefully you read our guides and applied because Futuresound 2010 organisers have this week announced which unsigned bands will battle it out to be one of six acts to appear at Leeds Festival.

The winner of Futuresound 2010 will join Ash, British Sea Power and Marina & The Diamonds on the Festival Republic Stage and 5 other bands will appear on the BBC Introducing Stage.

Heats take place in June and July at the Cockpit in Leeds city centre. Each heat costs £4 to get in and will feature four bands.

The 40 selected bands are:

Bearfoot Beware, Machine Guns & Leather Jackets, Soul Circus, Wot Gorilla?, Blood Oranges, Germain, Moody Gowns, Renaissance Dolls, Afraid Like You, Bang Bang Romeo, Hail Animator, More Than You’ll Ever Know, Don’t Panic Dear, Loose Talk Costs Lives, Wingman, Runaround Kids, Alvin Purple, Holy State, The Little Blackhearts, Redwire, Castrovalva, Cowtown, Lasse Brawn, Traitors, The Commune Of Rochefourchat, The Luminaries, Sam Airey, Sketches, Blacklisters, Cities Between Us, Kasiuss, St Pierre, Club Smith, Escort Knights, The Kiara Elles, James Owen Fender, Arthur Rigby & The Baskervylles, The Pablos, Shakinouts and Time of Hibu.

The audience vote counts so if you want to see your favourite Yorkshire bands appear at Leeds 2010 then get down to the heats this summer and get your vote counted.

The winner and the five runners up will be announced on this website on Saturday 24th July.
