Leeds 2010 headliner rumours
With just a couple of days to go until the Leeds lineup announcement, more rumours around the potential Leeds 2010 headliners are coming through.
Our friends over at leedsfest.org have this evening posted a Leeds 2010 line up rumour to their excellent Leeds Festival blog.
They’ve gone for these headliners:
Guns ‘N’ Roses
Arcade Fire
Blink 182
And they’ve also suggested that The Libertines will make a guest appearance.
It’s a line up that we’ve seen people post to our Leeds Festival rumours page and to Wikipedia over the last week or so.
Earlier this month we asked if Guns N Roses would headline Leeds 2010. And before that we posted about the possibility of Arcade Fire and Blink 182 headlining at Leeds 2010.
We’d like to hear your view on these three bands being the headliners.

arcade fire are an absolutely fantastic band. id love to see them there but headlining? not too sure.

It would be great if it were Blur, only because I commented that they could maybe headline back in a post I wrote in January.

i read somewhere that you can get wristbands or summats now that can be prove of age for the festival just so you dont have to carry ID round with you, do you know anything about this or is it bullshit?

Its not that no one likes GnR its that they are shit live!! ive seen them live a few times and both times where terrible.
i was acctually really dissapointed cause i was looking forward to seeing them and then they performed like that.
i wont deny that they have some amazing songs but they dont sound good anymore. Basically, they are past it, mainly because axel is a tosser and doesnt put any effort in.
seriously , how could Arcade fire headline ? 2 mediocre albums , no one likes them , no one thinks there headline material so it must be a joke , a band like bloc party , editors or thr kooks are all bigger and better bands but they’ll stilll probably only play 2nd or 3rd last or even play the nme stage . if theyve tried to make arcade fire the indie headliners then it is a terrible mistake , and im fucking praying that they don’t headline !!

Right so if you look at the rumours its not that bad i mean if you dont like arcade fire or G n Rs just go to like radio 1/nme im sure mumford and sons, cribs or maccabess will be there?

Greg – You’re the reason I’m not going to Leeds this year. My feeling is that you’ve never listened to Arcade Fire, not properly anyway. Anyone who would rather go see The Libertines or YM@6 over Arcade Fire just don’t make sense to me.
HOWEVER I do agree that AF wouldn’t be a good headliner. Neither would GnR or Blink 182 though. AF aren’t applicable to a big enough audience, GnR are just awful now and Blink are fun but they’d be too one-dimensional as a headliner. Of the 3 I think Blink would be the only sensible choice, despite the fact they’d be disappointing. Try harder Leeds.
arcade fire- wtf how are they a headliner gnr- fair enough even though there not the orignal line up there a massive name blink- i like them but im hopein if that really is the headliners there are some really strong / big names on the other stages coz download headliners have shit all over leeds this year if that truely is the headliners

Although this line-up may push away alot of fakers last years dragged in. You know those who are ‘just there for the ride’ and don’t know the bands but radio one mentions them sometimes and the person there trying to shag likes them. Makes me angry lmao.
Ok. Arcade Fire are on of my favorite bands. They deserve to headline and will
be good live but they are just not popular enough. GNR were good. But there’s only really Axel there. Blink are whingy fake punk crap. And the libertines are perhaps the most over-rated band ever. Except maybe Oasis. I hope weezer pavement LCD soundsystem and hot chip play. They are all likley. Green Day are 100 percent not playing. Which is good.

i would go for muse also.
but just so yall know efestival are usually spot on with their predictions so i would check their line up pages above others. they are usually never wrong.. with a few exceptions of course.

i heard blurs manager said they would be doing a uk festival and in the nme it said ‘leeds/reading – never guess whos back’…blur headlined before and with most of the other big festivals already anouncing line ups i wouldnt rule out blur!

GnR – not the original line up but they are reportedly on fire at the moment, would still go and see them!

Everytime i go to a festival there they are and everytime they just get worse. which is a shame cause first time i saw them i was really looking forward to it and i was soooo disapointed.
