Line up for 2010
The internet is already running wild with rumours for 2010 headliners for Leeds Festival. So what are your current favourites and who would you put your money on?
With the announcement for the Leeds Festival 2010 Line-up now just six months away (!), there is plenty of time to publicise your guess and take all the glory next March when you are found to have been correct.
Failing that, why not just put your fantasy headliners… either way we’d like to hear from you!

Got a strong feeling a Libertines comeback is on the cards. Would be amazing if it happened. I can see Paramore performing, The Temper Trap, YMA6. Also, expect some big surprises, maybe Ellie Goulding, Biffy Clyro.
KOL & Kasabian won’t do it. Both Headlining V festival, so no way.
Not really sure about who will headline other than blink, could be looking at rage for a shock. I’d say MCR although they’ve recently split with their drummer. Green day definitley won’t be as they have shows in america on the 30th and the 27th i think it is so unless they’re gonna fly over, play and fly back in 2 days would amaze me.

There seems to be a lot of (not misplaced) hostility towards Guns n Roses & Blink 182 headling. The strange thing is that both of those bands have headlined before in 2001 & 2005 respectively. And neither did badly. It seems pretty certain that Blink will be there. As for the rest I think there could be at least one big surprise. All other major bands capable of doing it seem to already be doing other festivals. Imagine it being Gorillaz? I can well imagine something coming out of Leftfield. I hope so for better or worse anyway because the last 4 years have been depressingly predictable. Does anyone else want the edge that this festival used to have back!?

the libertines wont do it because of Carl barat saying theres too much work to be done this year. foals new albums out soon and MGMTs is already out were are Klaxons ? Kasabian arent my favourite band but everyone in the world would like to see them, dont know why. guns and roses would attract soo many wastes of oxygen and Blink 182 are just going to be funny more than anything no one will be watching them because they write good music.

Kasabian will 100% not do it because they are do v festival and Leeds and v festival always have completely different bands because there is only 6 days between the festivals.
Red hot chili peppers will not do it this year, they Haven’t even start working on the next album yet, they may do Leeds 2011 with Kasabian i think, but if they don’t do 2011 they will do 2012 100%

kings 100% will not do it, they headlined last year and they are doing v festival the week before so they anit gona do 4 festival dates in the space of 7 days, plus V festival and Leeds are always completely different bands not 1 band is ever the same.
the lineup i made on older comments, is the most likely lineup people just have to deal with it is because it will be probs that and stop thinking other bands like kings of leon and green are gona do leeds because its 100% they wont. Its getting annoying.

I know this is supposedly for rumours and not bands you would want to see (or not want to see in this case) at Leeds, but come on, Blink 182, they’re incredibly washed up and whiney and just plain awful, They’d really wreck it for me. If arcade fire is confirmed, that would be immence. But yes, 3 headliners that would be incredible: Elbow, Arcade Fire, Radiohead/Kasabian (doubtful that Radiohead would play AGAIN, so I’d like to see kasabian… or red hot chilli peppers, or is that somehow out of the question… )

normally the lineup comes out at 6.45 the same time as the tickets are on sale so you no what you are paying for (what bands).
The line up announcement to the press is at 715pm on Monday, 30 minutes AFTER the tickets go on sale. That isn’t normal, so not quite sure. Separately, to NME Radio, it was revealed that Melvyn Benn would announce the line up at 7pm, 15 minutes AFTER tickets go on sale. Again, not normal. Again, not sure.
It certainly looks like tickets will be on sale for a short period before the line up is officially announced. But we shall see. There’s still a few twists and turns I suspect.

people will not like the bands there but they can not complain its all “indie” this year because it isnt, there is a varitey of different bands with didnt genre, so no1 can complain from guns n roses to libertines great difference.
So if you do not like this lineup which is most likely what it is going to be

i don’t think green day will play at all, as ive heard they are in a different place at the same time as leeds fest.
Iv’e heard blink 182 are in Japan on the same dates as leeds fest, weather that is true i dont know.
Paramore is likeley as they are in Europe round that time
MCR not sure, as gerad is having/has had an operation on his voice, thats why he cancelled all Aus dates, not sure when they were planning on touring again due to that though.

Ive heard rumours of Lostprophets, mayday parade, Linkin park & Madonna. Not sure about them.
I’d like to see some good punk bands play this year, like The casualties, Rancid e.c.t. The Casualties played a few years ago, and they are currently touring, so thats a possibility.
