Funeral Party confirm their appearance at Leeds Festival 2011.

Funeral Party have apparently confirmed on air that they will be playing at Leeds Festival this year.

Thanks to Kim for pointing this out to us on our Leeds Festival 2011 Rumours thread this morning:

“Listening to Zane Lowe’s Show last night on radio 1 and FUNERAL PARTY accidently revealed they would be playing….Woooo!!”

They said it at a gig that was broadcasted on radio 1. They were very drunk and Zane said ‘can we expect you at any uk fests?’ (not expecting to get a straight answer) and they blabbed out ‘Leeds and Reading’ then realised they shouldn’t have said it

Highly unlikely to be true, almost impossible for that to be leaked that early

Found this on nme website- Reading And Leeds Festivals organiser Melvin Benn has given clues as to who may be headlining the events this year – by revealing a bunch of acts who definitely won’t be topping the bill.

As well as describing his bookings as “staggeringly good”, he told BBC Newsbeat that the three headliners for the August festivals will not be headlining UK festivals elsewhere this summer.

This would rule out Foo Fighters, Kasabian, Kings Of Leon, System Of A Down, Linkin Park, Biffy Clyro, Slipknot, Blink-182 (who headlined the events last summer) and Metallica, who are all confirmed to headline elsewhere.

Arctic Monkeys are rumoured to be headlining V Festival this summer, which would rule them out too, while it is strongly rumoured that U2 and Coldplay will play headline slots at Glastonbury.
