8 January 2008 | 0:49

joe,
i cant say for sure that the foo fighters wont be playing download!! im 99.9% sure they wont!! considdering that reading is his favorate festival worldwide, i think its a dead cert they will be at leeds/reading!!
as far as muse goes… they have been rumoured for years for download… and guess what.. they havnt played yet.. and i dont think they ever will at download!! they have no place there!!
and the holy grail.. ac/dc… dont get me wrong.. id absolutly love these guys to grace us at download this year.. but lets get real!! they have been rumoured to play download since it started.. and guiess what.. they havnt!! if they headline this year i will cream my pants and eat them!!
hold up here tho… isnt this a leeds thread? why are we discussing download here? lol
who do you think weve got in line for headliners for leeds then joe?
9 January 2008 | 12:17
“radiohead are far too good to be doing festivals. they do their own tour, you moron!”???????
i really really hope they dont put radiohead on a headline slot.. or any other slot for that matter!! i know they have a large following but to be honest.. id rather boil my nuts in a stew that watch radiohead play live!! there not uplifting enough for a headline slot!!! you need somthing mad and intense for a headline slot!! like say for instance.. the prodigy… that would work!! they have a new album out this year.. could be them maybe?
sorry if that offends anyone.. just my opinion!!
9 January 2008 | 14:05

Theres a good possibility of Radiohead playing a festival seeing as they’ve finally released their new album, but i think they’re more likely to play at Glastonbury.
For the moron who said Radiohead don’t play festivals… V festival 06!
And for Mr Beavis, their set was the best live performance i’ve ever seen! DO NOT MISS THEM

RAGE WILL BE THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE YEAR! WHAT A BRILLIANT BAND TO PLAY AT A LOCAL FESTIVAL, CANT WAIT! LETS GET EXCITED AND SHOW THEM WHAT A FEATIVAL IS ALL ABOUT.
EMMA,
13 January 2008 | 17:17
Apparently, Less Than Jake, and NOFX have confirmed at their own gigs that they will be playing Reading & Leeds fest
WOO LESS THAN JAKE!
I heard that Rage Against The Machine, Kasabian, and The Verve are going to be headlining. Rage against the machine would be absolutely amazing, but for Leeds fest, i really couldn’t give a shit about kasabian and the verve.
Foo Fighters would be a lot better. I really want lostprophets to play again, cos they were my highlight last year. Also, I wish Feeder would headline, because they were amazing in 2006, and so were Muse.
But anyway, i’ll definitely be going, because it’s still the best weekend of my year, every year
x

Rage, Incubus & The Verve would make a pretty interesting headliners for the weekend, different, but interesting and defiantly enjoyable
the verve friday, incubus saturday & rage sunday =D if rage plays my god the riots are gonna be mental..well..more than normal =]
quite like newton faulkner to play on nme stage
Paramore have confirmed they will play again this year
they said at leeds 07, cause Haley Williams was ill during bank holiday 2006 so paramore played 2007 and confirmed they’d be back for 2008
i reckon fall out boy mighttt, but they played 2007 :/
Foo fighters would be good, but not sure if it will happen
less than jake would be immense
the killers will be great =]
Linkin Park probably will they havent played leeds and reading for a couple of years

29 January 2008 | 19:51
whats the point in rumouring !
until festival republic announce anything a rumour is exactly what it is … a RUMOUR!
29 January 2008 | 19:56
> whats the point in rumouring !
…. because people enjoy it? Which is why the internet is full of festival rumours, it’s just something thousands of people are interested in (doing or reading).

probs not happen though…
4 February 2008 | 20:56
foo fighters arent deffinate at all, wot u on about?! they’ve got a headline tour in the summer, so they most likely be playing festivals.
metallica, rage and green day are going to be the headliners this year…possibly aerosmith or rem instead of greenday, but i can assure u that rage and metallica will play
4 February 2008 | 23:53
BENNY GREB!!!
BENNY GREB!!!
BENNY GREB!!!
5 February 2008 | 14:12
RAGE, Metallica, AC/DC - Please God
Lets get some real music instead of that indie crap
I’ve heard Slipknot are pretty much a dead cert aswell
It wouldn’t suprise me if there was an appearance from the Foos
I’m really looking forward to finding out the confirmed lineup
5 February 2008 | 14:19
Razorlight better not be headlining, they should be shot for crimes against music
5 February 2008 | 20:18
I know Avenged Sevenfold are going to be there.
Their singer accidentally spilled that tidbit to fans when hanging out with fans after a show last month.
I was there, I heard it.
6 February 2008 | 10:23
Ricky
19 January 2008 | 1:21

7 February 2008 | 13:49
I really do hope RATM play I’ll bloody cream myself if they do. I heard Metallica somewhere aswel I’m not really a fan but I saw them play Nothing Else Matters at that Live Earth Bollock Fest and they sounded fantastic.
8 February 2008 | 15:00
how shit is download festival headliners? anyone agree to disagree?
looking to me like reading/leeds is the place to be
9 February 2008 | 17:45
Aww, id seriously kill for Blink and SOAD to play. that would be like, the best moment of my life. Although it aint gonna happen
Pleasssssssse have good bands, the rumours are definatly keeping everyone interested!!!!
Bex… xx
10 February 2008 | 12:07
metallica and rage on the friday
killers and babyshambles on the saturday
and foo fighters and kasabian on the sunday
everyone seems to forget that tyou hav more than 3 big bands on look at last year kings of leon arcade fire 9 inch nails, even lostprophets, there headlining download this year (laughable lineup at download btw) pretty sure the warped tour is finished before leeds so im expecting paramore and angels and airwaves (best band ever!!!! ok now you can skit me but everything else i said was valid)
12 February 2008 | 22:52
did fall out boy already headline th leeds fest.?just wanderin?
13 February 2008 | 16:23
I know they played but I don’t think they headlined. I hope they’re not playing this year
13 February 2008 | 17:56
and fall out boy suck! but nevermind, they will probably play anyways and get bottled off of the stage, and they arent a headlining band….
bring on rage, killers and metallica, definitley the best festival headliners as far as 2008 is concerned. foo fighters wont play, doing their own headline tour in the summer..
i reckon other bands we can expect to see are paramore, new found glory, nofx, less than jake, panic at the disco, simple plan, kasabian, the enemy, angels and airwaves, avenged sevenfold, billy talent, good charlotte and who knows, maybe ac/dc….
wishful thinking bands are…linkin park, van halen, foo fighters, arctic monkeys, nickelback, red hot chili peppers, bon jovi.
13 February 2008 | 18:06
i hope the cureeeeeeeeee! and hot chip! i didnt go last year, so i missed interpol :’( and bloc party and kings of leon and arcade fire
last year was definatly my ideal year, i hope this year is too! im deffffinnnatly going this year, without a doubt, im already shopping for wonderful wonderful tents. i hope metallica or green day just dont…eurgh. why is everyone saying all these shit bands like alkaline trio, mcr, oasis, elliot minor, paramore..they’re all a bag of shit, lets get some real, decent bands on the stage.
DONT LET GREENDAY PLAY!!! or metallica or any other shit which you lot keep mentioning.
13 February 2008 | 18:14
THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE THE CURE WOULD BE GOOD.
i agree, all the rubbish bands doesnt sound too good to me, like kasabian and good charlotte, billy talent, and linkin park, nobody wants to see those apart from all you moshers, go to download. apparently thats a shit line up though. im not wasting that much money to stand in a beer tent, because if those bands play, thats what ill be doing. i know we go for the experience too, and it is a truly amazing atmosphere but all the same, decent bands please, things that the majority of people WANT to see would be fab!
13 February 2008 | 18:49
fightstarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
charlie is the fuckin man
13 February 2008 | 20:38
No wonder the Leeds Festival is going downhill if people who want Fall Out Boy and Linkin Park and the like playing. Bring on Metalica and Rage.
14 February 2008 | 11:57
silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair silverchair.

I hear the who and the bruno valentines???
14 February 2008 | 13:09
gotta b
foo fighters
strokes
killers
that would be class
14 February 2008 | 13:11
and wen do tickets go on sale?
14 February 2008 | 16:49
this aint no rumour or truth, but i’d really like to see WOLFMOTHER struttin their stuff on a proper sunny day. thats my ideal scenario lol.
anybody agree?
14 February 2008 | 18:47
I agree whole-heartedly. That would be awesome
14 February 2008 | 21:41
does any1 know if there is a phone number that you can phone 4 tickets as as getting them off the net ?????
14 February 2008 | 21:45
Yes, in every year so far there has been a number you can phone. You can also buy in person at a number of large (HMV stores across the North) and smaller local ticket shops (Crash, Jumbo). Full ticket details - including how to buy - is usually revealed nearer the time. To view last year’s ticket information (to gather more info for this year) see the link below:
http://www.leedsmusicfestival.com/line-up-2007/
14 February 2008 | 21:46

15 February 2008 | 13:12
RAGE ARE PLAYING T IN THE PARK!!!!!
WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!
15 February 2008 | 14:51
Does that not mean they’ll be playing Leeds?
15 February 2008 | 14:52
I was meant to say “does that mean they won’t be playing Leeds?”
15 February 2008 | 15:25
not looking too grim is it? make way for a better band in my opinion
ok they are legends but not a band i really wanna see
they should get machine head in their place
so much fucking better
15 February 2008 | 15:29
does anyone know what date the tickets will be coming on sale? x
15 February 2008 | 16:10
man that sucks, i hope rage do play leeds, otherwise ill b well annoyed. And as for machine head headlining, they r more of a download kind of band.
Metallica and Rage, hopefully the foo fighters, ive heard its strong, but i thought they wouldnt because of their summer tour.
hoping leeds wont be getting as bad a line up as download..fair enough the headliners are good, but they arent headlining bands, except kiss, but who wants to go to a festival and see bands like judas priest and kiss, unless you are in the 70’s.
15 February 2008 | 16:20
also if its all american headliners, velvet revolver might play, van halen?!?! slipknot, korn, killers, system of a down, kings of leon.
who knows who it could be now. The 3 possibilities for leeds are now headlining t in the park…rage, the verve and rem….gutted!
16 February 2008 | 13:12
system of a down are doing their own things i cant see them doing it.
i see what u mean about machine head but it brings something different to the festival
it never used to be all about indie…it should be a mixed bag
2006 we had slayer and mastadon.we need more bands like that
i reakon slipknot have a chance,i thought they wud be doing download as their album is due out june/july
so maybe a leeds/reading slot is on the cards?
16 February 2008 | 13:14
i like the verve as im also from wigan so it wud be a crime not to like them haha
but they arent a band id wanna see headline a festival
u need an upbeat kinda band to get u going
16 February 2008 | 16:53
Foo fighters, RATM and probably Green Day or Metallica, but who said it will be a rock act? Wouldnt Kanye West do it?
16 February 2008 | 18:13
yeah, but last time a hip hop act took to the stage, they got through about 2 songs before being bottled off, and that was 50 cent, haha!
17 February 2008 | 16:08
I reakon Incubus will be playin because there touring festivals around that time, foo fighters and greenday hopefully!!! I reakon RATM as there doing T in the park aswel. I hope to od incubus are playin thou!
17 February 2008 | 17:01
I remember 50 cent playing and one of his “homies” getting smacked with an inflatable guitar. And all the gun shot sound effects they put in between all the songs really pissed me off.
19 February 2008 | 2:04
T in the park looks like the festival to beat this year, In all honesty Kings Of Leon, RATM are 2 of the best american bands about. Bands like Slipknot and Metallica are more download-esque. By announcing that the 3 headliners are american it take Zeppelin, Arctic Monkeys and Oasis out the picture to even to rumoured. Even the Sex Pistols would have been class as they where outstanding in Glasgow last year.
19 February 2008 | 11:57
I heard that atomic kitten are getting back together for one last world tour and there ending it at leeds. There only playing at leeds on the sunday kinda like when G&R only played leeds in 02. Bring on the kitten!

the cure
ratm
radiohead
i doubt the cure or radiohead to be honest
so ive got me fingers crossed for rage against the machine
would love to see some good names on the dance stage
AND pete and the pirates (upcoming indie band) told me and some mates they were deffinatly playing.
21 February 2008 | 12:54
i’d just like to say a great big FUCK YOU!!!!! to which ever inbred half-wit said “fuck the mosher shit” and all the non-music fans that fall in the same catergory as this idiot. Leeds/Reading is a ROCK FESTIVAL and always should be and anyone that doesn’t like real music can just take their baseball caps and trackie bottoms or their trendy uniform and mince on down to creamfields or some other shit like that. KEEP AWAY FROM OUR FESTIVAL!
21 February 2008 | 14:41
hello!
I want see SUEDE.
more!more!SUEDE.
21 February 2008 | 16:47
come on lads the killers should hopefully play this year, they havn’t since the release of sams town and sawdust. also to the person who suggested ten floors (previously ten floors below society which is a better name really) what the hell, i doubt it!!!!!
21 February 2008 | 16:48
did i hear something about Jay Z or was that another festival?
22 February 2008 | 0:26
do recon kings of leon will play this year or not as they played last year?
22 February 2008 | 14:20
Jay Z is headlining Glastonbury which should be pretty cool.
22 February 2008 | 15:36
well said steph
22 February 2008 | 18:58

22 February 2008 | 18:59
rage against the machine also been confirmed for oxegen festival!!!!!!

who knows if they will be doing leeds/reading? hmmmmmmmmmmm
24 February 2008 | 13:14
Im hoping Green Day headline cz otherwise i wnt get my ticket bought for me and ill have to save up hahaaa!
My Chemical Romance doing it would full on make my year
Oooh PATD migt do it this year cz of their new album idk..
Im hoping the line-ups not all indie shite though -_-;
24 February 2008 | 16:25
Beavis… I think they were being facetious about Stevie Ray Vaughan & Nirvana…
TOOL!!!!!!!!!
24 February 2008 | 17:55
yeh emz, u say u want all indie shit which is fair enough, but u want mcr to play, and they suck even more!
24 February 2008 | 19:31
no one has mentioned perfect circle or tool!!! that would be good.
Biffy are more than likely a definete seein as they play leeds almost every year since about 2002, now they are just getting the credit they deserve!
Would love to see slipknot, incubus, prodigy, SOAD again, fingers crossed!
PLEASE NO GREENDAY! american idoit??? says it all, used to love them but they wanna be the next rage i think with their political rants.
Mon the biffy!!!
24 February 2008 | 20:52
man best headliners would be metallica! rage (unfortnuatley they have been promised to bloody t in the parK!!!) something a bit rocky! 06 headliners were great oh and to the anonymous above me! SOAD would be awesome!!! prodigy are pretty cool but are better on smaller venues so not headliners- any updates on rumours would be good- biffy are pretty good live but not gonna be my fave band to see
so METALLICA
SOAD
MUSE!
(i know hte last one is not gonna happen cos UK tour wasnt long ago- but muse have to be one of the best live bands ever!!)
p.s if MCR are playing i will cry! worst band ever! seen them live way too many times and they are absolute rubbish!!!
24 February 2008 | 21:26
SOAD wout play as the band are doing the own projects.
if anything serj tankian will prob do his solo stuff earler on in the day on the main stage.
25 February 2008 | 3:07
Metallica have not been promised to T in the Park, their headliners have been announced. System of a Down have broke up, possibly for good, which I am quite thankful for. Rage seem very likely from what I’ve heard. Foo Fighters also seem very likely to play. As for the other headliner, Green Day seem unlikely as they haven’t announced any American tour dates yet, and they’re almost certainly going to tour America after they release the new album before coming to the UK.
25 February 2008 | 11:05
no metallica havent been promised to T in hte Park- Rage against the machine have!
25 February 2008 | 15:11
I Recon Metallica, Rage, and i Hope Green Day but i doubt it.
any confirmed yet??
25 February 2008 | 18:44
none confirmed until the day the tickets go on sale! which is usually 30-60 mins before they go onsale
25 February 2008 | 21:10
rage agaisnt the machine
greenday
foofighters
metallica
…apparantly
25 February 2008 | 21:47
i heard The Verve, RATM & Metallica
tbh, i never watch the main stage headliners anyway, i like the radio 1 stage.
THE HORRORS THE HORRORS THE HORRORS THE HORRORS THE HORRORS THE HORRORS THE HORRORS THE HORRORS THE HORRORS
25 February 2008 | 22:37
how could rage, greenday, foo;s and metallica play, they are all headlining bands, wouldnt work out 2 well. Im still backing rage and metallica, but hopefully foos over green day, even though both are ace, the foo fighters are incredible.
25 February 2008 | 22:57
i’ve heard metallica were going to be there? if so i need to be alerted a.s.ap
joemckeown92@hotmail.co.uk get back to me
26 February 2008 | 17:23
was really wanting to see radiohead
but im not too fussed now as im off to see them on the 29th june at LCCG in manchester
26 February 2008 | 19:21
some of these suggestions are just abit mish-moshery (i know, excellent use of the english language there)
I hate to say it but I think although there will be some rock/punk bands there this year I’m putting my money on indie.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Razorlight did headline, it might be more likely if they release an album closer to the announcement date.
The horrors are a good bet, as are the killers, perhaps kings of leon and the cure but other than that i’ve got no clue!
surprisingly Green Day could make an appearance, with a new album expected within the next couple of months I think its a possiblilty.
I know it’s tense having to buy your tickets on the day they announce the band, but I quite like it, Its gonna be such an adrenalin rush! I just wish they’d give us a clue as to when they are planning on announcing, I don’t want to be skint on the day they tell us lol.
Hope to see you there guys. x
ps, sorry for the life story
26 February 2008 | 20:53
Metalica inittt
26 February 2008 | 21:23
no rage they doing t in the park it will be metallica mcr and slipknot metallica for ledgendary my chemical romance for popular and slipknot for new album they have been confirmed to be 3 american guitar bands so there my bets
26 February 2008 | 23:15
Im sure bands have headlined T in the park and leeds in the past and its usually a given that you do T in the Park and Oxygen.
I’m for RATM, Metalica and ??,
Foos and Killers did V last year and Foos are doing Wembley, Green day havent done anything recently to warrant a headline spot. REM have now announced stadium dates.
Hope the following are announced
Gallows,
Wolfmother
Silverchair,
F*cked UP
Serj Tanikan - Just to get him off the screen
Anti flag
Jesus Lizard (Showing my age)
27 February 2008 | 0:35
razorlight wont do it :S
they headlined last year
they wont get the same band on two year in a row
totally pointless
and its been confirmed its 3 american bands
27 February 2008 | 1:37
should be rage, Muse and the strokes could you ask for better!!!
the answer being no!!!
any news on Muse playing? i ask!
27 February 2008 | 12:02
Right on skippy at a gig. I also hope silverchair are announced. That would be well ace. silverchair for leeds and reading 08. Best band on the planet.
Would be funny if Nickelback played. We could all sing along to Rock Star and then throw poop at them because they suck.
28 February 2008 | 17:31
Or even better, not go see them at all.
28 February 2008 | 18:35
I heard Rage and maybe Metallica!
Course I’d love for Muse or Daft Punk to play! Gallows and enter shikari would be cool as well!
28 February 2008 | 20:10
rage muse and the strokes? yeh u could do better than that! rage, metallica and foo fighters!! much better headliners! obviously muse are good, but id prefer one of the others
29 February 2008 | 17:01

5 March 2008 | 18:46
slipknot pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
5 March 2008 | 19:42
Hey steph - not all guys in baseball caps and trackies are idiots like the anti-mosher guy above!! I’m a music lover of many genres, and i shall be proudly walking round in my baseball cap n trackies rocking out (PLEASE let it be to Rage) at Leeds!
The whole “stay away from our festival” thing - come on, lets not lower ourselves to the level of the scallies who hate anything different - a persons style of dress doesn’t always tell you what music they like! Not having a go - just my two pence worth.
On topic - i’d love to see Ratm and slipknot again - saw em way back at Leeds fest in 2000 - one of the best weekends of my life - Ratm, the ‘knot, Bizkit, Deftones, Blink, Pulp, Oasis (although i hated em at the time!) and Placebo (was anyone else there and experienced the freaky “stormy weather” moment??) to name a few!
6 March 2008 | 18:59
Get some black/Death metal bands not indie and emo shite.
6 March 2008 | 19:00
Yeah Max i was there that year. The heavens proper opened for Placebo. We watched them from under the shelter of a burger van and they were ace
6 March 2008 | 23:36
chemical brothers PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, The Verve, Ill be happy if they are there
7 March 2008 | 16:38
oh and for the record im not a mosher as i have bleached long blonde hair and wear a band t-shirt with a pair of jeans
thats all thanks
7 March 2008 | 19:25
I’ve always been under the impression that those bands who play at V Festival the weekend before don’t/can’t play Leeds/Reading Festival.
If that’s right it therefore rules out…
MUSE - THE VERVE - STEREOPHONICS - THE KOOKS - MAXIMO PARK - ALANIS MORISSETTE - THE FUTUREHEADS - THE PRODIGY - THE PIGEON DETECTIVES - JAMIE T - THE TWANG - KINGS OF LEON - AMY WINEHOUSE - LENNY KRAVITZ - THE FEELING - KAISER CHIEFS - THE ZUTONS - THE VIEW - REVEREND AND THE MAKERS - SCOUTING FOR GIRLS - THE COURTEENERS - THE RIFLES THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS - THE CHARLATANS - HOT CHIP - TRAVIS - ROBYN
Which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what your in to.
Just a thought really, I can’t think of an act that played both Leeds/Reading and V last year.
I had my heart set on a Blur reunion and a headliner at Leeds (wishful thinking I know) Oh well theres always next year
7 March 2008 | 19:43
if u want black/death metal, why dont u go to download?
9 March 2008 | 0:32
Hannah Montana
Dido
Moby
Matthew Barber
9 March 2008 | 13:27
cos leeds needs more rock/metal
ive been to leeds 3 times in a row now and i fucking love it
but to see some heavier bands would be completely amazing
reading/leeds was never about indie it just got that way
its time it went back to its old routes
9 March 2008 | 22:20

10 March 2008 | 17:26

11 March 2008 | 2:29
defo metallica big fan !!!!
11 March 2008 | 13:16
who said the cure? there no chance of them doing leeds . far too good. the verve couldbe done like. chemical brothers definitely. hopefully no shit bands like the kooks, wombats, the view will be playting thinking there indie as fuck. and please no scouting for girls man. what is there crack? CHARLATANs are a definite and tears for fears and depeche mode should be there! and kraftwerk! oasis. you should get some proper radge artists. simian mobile disco end of year mash up set. erol alkan. would make the expirience a whole lot better.
sound
11 March 2008 | 13:19

12 March 2008 | 1:03
its obvs gonna be killers rage and metalica
isn’t this practically confirmed?
12 March 2008 | 11:31
I am playing Leeds
12 March 2008 | 14:33
There seems to be an incredible demand for metallica….Very likely that they’ll headline as last time was 2003 I believe. Razorlight: Nope. Far too recent to play again. Greenday 2004….perhaps. Actually there is a very real chance they may appear. I heard something about it ages ago. Rage a decent bet but due to crowd control they may lose out to a slightly lesser known festival friendly band. Not judging Rage or anything, but they are crap anyway.
I’d like to see (but probably won’t; something seriously wrong with the headline organisers and line up arrangers past two years):
Friday: Metallica/Rammstein/Avenged Sevenfold (what a night that would be!)
Saturday: Greenday/ or some other piddly emo or indy band that no-one should care about
Sunday: Rage . Grudgingly.
I only really care about Metallica so please, if you are the headline organiser reading this, try your best. You get a free smile from me!
12 March 2008 | 20:07
Strokes please!!!
12 March 2008 | 22:50
powderfinger from australia simply the best and i heard that they were gona try to tour in europe………. just keep my fingers crossed:)
12 March 2008 | 22:56
strokes, greenday and foos!! Also along with Maximo park, The Rakes, The Cribs and can’t think of anyone else right now
13 March 2008 | 0:28
To be honest
as long as I get rage, green day and nofx then that is enough to cream over for me. Every other band is just gonna be a bonus, unless however there is an oasis appearance..hmm. Legs crossed for that one
13 March 2008 | 0:30
And the Arctic frigging Monkeys! hell i want to see them so badly too lol
13 March 2008 | 6:57
Rage Against the machine( friday )
Linkin Park ( saturday )
Metallica ( sunday )
watch this space
13 March 2008 | 11:20
RATM and Metallica!!!
I wouldn’t even care if the cheeky girls headlined the other stage as long as rage and tallica go.
I’d like to see Slipknot or SOAD up there but i dont think they would be headliners.
13 March 2008 | 12:22
Headliners: Rage, Foos, Green Day. (Maybe The Killers?)
Ideal headliners: Rage & Linkin Park. Don’t really care who else.
Ideal other acts: Hadouken. Enter Shikari. Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly. Kate Nash. Paramore. Jimmy Eat World. Add some good dance/d&b acts too.
Tbh, just take last years line up, add Linkin Park and Rage and you’re sorted. Would love bands like Muse, Oasis, Metallica, Imogen Heap, etc, to be there, but it’s just not going to happen. Basically.
Will 2008 beat 2007? Looking very unlikely right now…
13 March 2008 | 12:24
I really want The Klaxons there, but apparently they’ve said they’re playing no festivals this year. Gutter.
13 March 2008 | 12:33
whoa!
big rumours of foo fighters headlining! also linkin park! whoop!
really hope paramore are playing again… now they were imense!!
xox
13 March 2008 | 15:07

14 March 2008 | 12:42
F#@k Leeds festival! It’s all indie w@#k now anyway.
Temple Newsam was a much better venue, not to mention much better sound, more eclectic lineup and much cheaper price.
We got the Warped Tour too in 99!!!
What happened??!!! I’m guessing NME and Radio 1 got too much involvement!
Oh yeah, i saw RATM last time they played, i love them, but they’re not brilliant live, especially Tom Morello. Lets hope they’ve practiced more this time!
The Stray Cats are touring… Go see them instead. You won’t be dissappointed.
14 March 2008 | 14:11

i would like to see zebrahead or reel big fish play though that would be awsome
19 March 2008 | 23:56
Yes adi, I think I believe you. Metallica are a definite; they have a new album in production, havn’t played since 2003, and are currently starting a new tour which would take them to England in time for Leeds.
K for Killers? Are they american? Oh well, I’ll find out.
As for Rage? I thought that they were 100 percent not playing…. Hmmm intriguing. Ace for metallica though.

24 March 2008 | 0:27
Yeahh, that’s right
Metallica, The Killers, Rage Against The Machine
I mean, REALLY don’t take my word for it, as it could always be fake, but i have recieved the exact same lineup from two completely different people, both with connections to the festival organisers
Enter shikari are on the friday in leeds, fourth from the last band on the main stage.
Foo fighters aren’t on the lineup i have, but maybe they could do it secretly like they were going to last year, but they didn’t because of Dave’s throat or something like that?
I’m pretty happy, cos taking back sunday and less than jake are playing!
just remember, this is just my word for it, and it could be fake, but that’s what i’ve heard!
anything else anyone wants to ask?
24 March 2008 | 19:15
Best not be shitty Metallica headlining.
I wants REM!!
24 March 2008 | 19:16
I’ve heard rumours of a £160 ticket charge without booking fee’s, is this just bullshit? or have they increased the price stupidly?
24 March 2008 | 19:57
how do people know these bands for certain?! id say just wait until the line up date to really see.
24 March 2008 | 22:31
Its gotta be Slipknot theyd get the place bouncing…..and besides Download already have 3 headliners, and Slipknot are too big for a mid-card slot.
25 March 2008 | 21:21
better not be fucking shitty new rave bastards
26 March 2008 | 9:13

27 March 2008 | 13:38
MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADDDIIINNAAAA LAAAAKKKEEE (;
27 March 2008 | 16:55
I don’t see how anyone hasn’t mentioned stone sour yet! their new album is amazing! Not to mention that they have an awesome live performance! But I think that there should be a remake of one of the all time great Leeds/Reading festivals. That of 2002! I mean yeah there were a few poor bands playing. But there were some all time great bands there! Many of which were still relitively unknown at the time. Amen, Dillinger, Slipknot, Offspring, Alec empire, Prodigy, GNR, Incubus etc. None of that 50 Cent or Rasmum bollocks! Pure straight rock music!
27 March 2008 | 17:36
Pendulum have self confirmed,
RAVE ON
27 March 2008 | 19:59
Why is everyone wanting bands back that played last year?
Metallica would be epic but they seem to be a bit out of place with the whole indie-pop lark that goes on at Leeds..
Chillis were wank last year so the headliners this year had better make up for it..
Oh and if Pendulum&Prodigy don’t go, I will be most gutted.
Chemical Brothers
)
Daft Punk
Aphex Twin
Does It Offend You, Yeah? (I don’t care if they were there last year
Justice *creams*
Oh and Boards of Canada should do a nighttime set on the Saturday, that would be so fucking chill…
27 March 2008 | 20:44

28 March 2008 | 18:27

29 March 2008 | 14:27
if i dont get tickets
im ending my life
29 March 2008 | 19:04
Last year, i managed to get three tickets…..then i checked back about 30 mins later to see if tickets sold out, and realised i’d bought 3 READING festival tickets and STILLLL managed to buy three Leeds fest tickets!!!
The moral of the story is, if you don’t manage to get onto the tickets website in time, you need better internet!!!
30 March 2008 | 0:00

It says Rage Against The Machine, Killers and Metallica are the main line up.
And others playing are The Automatic, Enter Shikari, Hadouken! Duffy. The Wombats and plenty more.
Just cant rememeber
seemed a pretty good line up , hope its true.

30 March 2008 | 22:07

31 March 2008 | 13:43
To Lucy;
Yeah, that’s the same one i’ve got. It could be a fake, but it is a fake made on very reliable sources….BECAUSE…..
The guy that manages our band also works with the press at Leeds Fest, and they’re in a Conference at Leeds Cockpit, which is the first place the lineup is officially announced (to the press), wheras it’s released to the general public later tonight, an hour before tickets go on sale
So far, he’s confirmed to me that the headliners ARE METALLICA, THE KILLERS and RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE
Also playing, should be Bloc Party, Paramore, Less Than Jake, New Found Glory, Manic Street Preachers, Slipknot, and Queens Of The Stone Age
I’m so bloody happy with that line up so far!!!!!
:D
