Do you want to play at Leeds Festival 2009?

Applications for Futuresound 2009 will be accepted from Monday 11th May.

The annual Futuresound competition – now into its 9th year – offers unsigned bands from around the North of the UK the opportunity to play at the Leeds Festival.

In previous years, many bands have taken to the stages at the festival as a result of playing the Futuresound event. Last year saw interest from hundreds of top quality entrants with Fran Rodgers, Dinosaur Pile Up and These Monsters coming in the top six acts.

The winner this year will once again play on the Festival Republic Stage at both Leeds and Reading and the 5 runners up will perform at both sites on the BBC Introducing Stage.

From all the applications, thirty bands will be selected with the next phase of the competition being held over 10 dates, running from the end of June and over the course of July. Each gig will feature a three band line-up and all gigs will be judged by three judges from within the Leeds music industry.

Full details about the competition, conditions of entry and application forms can be found here.

Applications are accepted from Monday 11th May and the deadline for entries will be Friday 29th May.

    Dear Sir/Madam,
    namaste

I am Tek Naraya Jha, writing on behalf of Mr. Shyamanand Suman, the chief advisor to the foreign minister of Nepal. I am from Community and Culture and Promotion Organization in Nepal (CACPO-Nepal http://www.cacpo.org.np). It is non-profitmaking, non-governmental organization working in the development of community and promotion of Nepalese Culture in all over the world. We are being associating with the famous music group Sur-Sudha http://www.sursudha.com which is performing in Europe and America for last 18 yrs , it is only Tabala, Flute and Sitar performance, no vocal, so it will definitely entertain British and other foreign people too at the same time and so that we could raise the funds for our organization which could be spent on supporting the children in Education who couldnot attend the school because of poverty.

We will be in France, Germany and Netherlands June. we are planning to perform in UK in July and August of this year. So we will be highly delighted if we have chances to have few concerts in UK or any other countries during the time for the promotion of Nepalese Culture.

I look forward to hear from you, thank you.

    Namaste
    Sincerely Yours
