Your Comments

  1. davelms says:

It’s been set at 70,000 between 2006 and 2010 inclusive. They were asking for an additional 5,000 for this year, and I cannot remember if they were granted permission.

    So it’s either 70,000 or 75,000.

    Read more here: http://www.leedsmusicscene.net/article/13770/

  2. nathan says:

Does anyone know what the capacity of the festival was?

  3. big al says:

cannot believe odd future pulled out. they were my priority. BASTAAAAARRRRRRDSSSSSSSSS

  4. Freddie says:

There is no WAY Mouthwash are playing.. they’ve split up.. sad times for everyone :(

  5. two door fan says:

I can’t wait to go to leeds last festival i went to was in 2001,really lookin forward to seein two door cinema club, devlin, the streets,ed sheeran, muse mcr,the veiw the pigeon detectives so excited now!!!!!

  6. stu says:

We Are The Ocean, Rise Against, Frank Turner, Twin Atlantic, The Blackout, Jimmy Eat World, Taking Back Sunday, Panic, Tim Minchin AND Mark Watson. Fucking get in. Weekends gonna be awesome. Also, Doherty’s only doing 6 weeks of his sentence so he’s gonna be there,

  7. Shane says:

Rather conveniently for me, none of the bands I want to see are going to clash. There are a few I’m surprised at such as MCR and muse (who I think are overhyped, but if other people like them then that’s fine with me). I won’t be seeing them anyway as the other stage has white lies, noah and the whale and the vaccines! That’s gonne be a few hours of heaven right there! Elbow, Interpol, Friendly fires, chapel club, the strokes, the national, Jimmy eat world, Two door cinema club, seasick steve, pigeon detectives, the joy formidable, White lies, Noah and the whale and the vaccines. Amazing!

  8. toncasgirl says:

At 46 I imagine I am one of the older people coming to the festival, I wanted to make that clear before saying I am coming predominantly for MCR. Yes, I can’t wait to see Pulp for the first time (having seen Jarvis’s excellent solo gig in Sheffield a few years back), Tim Minchin (2nd time this year) and Madness (who were brilliant at York last year). BUT My Chem are the big draw for me.

I get really sick of all the slagging off of MCR just because some stupid journaloust somewhere once called them EMO and it stuck. They are not, and never were, Emo. They put on a fabulous rock show and whatever they or their audience wear is irrelevant. If Queen have true successors in the rock world MCR are it.

If you haven’t seen them give them a chance, if you still hate them walk away and watch something else so us true fans can get nearer. But seriously – bottling a band? What a waste of time and energy. Spread the love guys!

  9. kurt says:

the line up sucks so bad, iv been the last 2 years and i think its just getting worse and worse, theres 3 bands i want to see hahah, and a few djs…
still gonna go for the pure fact that there is no where like leeds festival, and iv been to a few festivals so i can say that.
but seriously, next year they need to up there game with the laaaaame line ups. bring back 2008!
oh and whoever says mcr will be good.. get your head tested!

  10. Robyn says:

    Twin Atlantic <3

  11. Amy says:

    yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MY CHEMICAL ROMANE FOR THE FUCKING WIIIIIIIN!!!!!!! :D
they are actually the ONLY reason i want to go <3
    best fucking band evvvvver <3
to everyone who says they are appauling/terrible/awful/shit : please do not bottle them/ give them abuse, even if you do not like them :3 it would be muchly appreciated, thanks <3
anyway, OMGOMGOMG I AM SOOOO EXCITED TO SEE MCR AGAIN!!!! :D :D:D
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  12. Adam Perry says:

All this talk about My Chemical Romance is getting stupid !!!! i will be honest in saying I am not a huge fan, But they are playing and they will probs put on a very good show so get over it and just enjoy the weekend :) and you have got to admit after a few beers any band can sound good :) This will be my first time at leads and i am really looking forward to it all. I cant wait for Cage the Elephant, Muse, Seasick Steve, Pulp, The Strokes, The Joy Formidable ect. Its going to be a fab weekend !!!!!!!!!! see you all there

  13. Live Elephant says:

Are we sure that Pete Doherty is still playing as hes in Prison? Cant wait to see the Strokes and Pulp though. For a time there I thought I’d never see either of them!

  14. Joe says:

does anybody know when the rest of the festival republic stage is announced?

  15. The ninja of everything says:

Are you forgetting the fact that you will be going to a fezzie with good friends and people you love, I don’t like all the bands lined up but still gonna have a good time and get amongst it, bloodied, muddied and dirty, sweaty and drunk, so all good, I’m already anticipating that I will have a mega time, meet some randoms act like a twat see bands I like and bands I don’t know, and generally just be surrounded by awesomness, my boyf hates my chemical toilet but I’m making him go all the same, so chin up folks enjoy, it will be a good weekend,

  16. alex says:

Really not that impressed, the main stage apart from strokes, the national and joy formidable is full of bands either i’ve seen or are not worth paying that much to see. Albeit there are some good bands spattered throughout the other stages (OFWGKTA, flogging molly, sharks etc) in fact sunday is the onloy good day, friday and saturday aren’t up to scratch. For the last 3 years we’ve hopped from stage to stage because there was always someone good on and clashes were always a problem. This year the good bands are too few and far between! Also I don’t really care what people say, MCR are shit and shouldn’t headline this festival at all, they won’t pull a big enough crowd. I hope PULP do because they’re a great band but I can see the strokes bringing more?
Saying that, enjoy it, all of you who are going

  17. relentless man says:

alll this shit about chemical romance, is true they are shit!!!
So when there on lets go listen to the streets and two many dj’s.
this year everyone smile at each other, and get a smile back, so stop fucking acting like bitches and lets party!!!!!!!!!!

  18. lardddyyy says:

ODD FUTURE WOLF GANG KILL THEM ALL!

  19. Sandstorm says:

    Fuck yeah, Title Fight!!

  20. ChemJem says:

I’m really looking forewards to Muse, Panic! At the Disco and I guess TBS are pretty good. I can hardly wait for MCR!! They are my favourite band of all time, an the people who don’t like them, fair enough, but please listen to the music and what the actual band has to say before calling them emo trash. They’re the opposite. And 30 seconds to mars are amazing too, and the Blackout, I saw them supporting My Chem. Wish fall out boy hadn’t split up so they could be here though :(

  21. Kherron says:

    OH FUCK YEAH! ARCHITECTS! :D

  22. jude says:

The Descendents have self confirmed for the lock up stage. Hopefully a wilhelm scream and the Menzingers will too. And in a perfect world, every time i die…

  23. Alex says:

I saw incubus before! What the hell happened!?!?!!??!?

  24. tasha says:

Im going on the Saturday, only cause 30 Seconds To Mars are there XD But I wish Muse were on that day:(

  25. Dave says:

Four Year Strong & Set Your Goals announced for Lock-Up stage will improve this line up immensely. hope one happens if not both

  26. messycreation. says:

OMFG. best line up! mcr aren’t shit. what planet are you fucking on? can’t wait to see The Blackout, BMTH, MCR, P!ATD<33 gonna be immense.

  27. Adam King says:

    No Cribs :(

  28. bobbobobobobobob says:

stop chatting about my chemical romance, there shite we fuckin know lets move on and start chatting about who else is going to be playing at leeds who aint been announced!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  29. chris says:

awesome line up! muse, 30 seconds, frank turner, rise against, enter shikari, jimmy eat world, strokes. cannot wait.

  30. tasha says:

jordan, are you retarded may i ask? my chemical romance are the most amazing band known to man!!! and may i ask who are you calling whiny cunts, coz at the moment i think you are talking about yourself! any way can’t fucking wait to see MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE again XD haha.

  31. Rocky says:

Spent a decade trying to see Muse. Gonna be amazing! And Pulp will be classic. Apart from that the line-ups pretty shit. Shame about the MRC day. Might go watch the Offsping and Beady Eye but the entire days pretty much a write-off. 30 Seconds to Mars followed by MCR. WTF? Never seen such a bad main stage line-up in one day.

  32. Sara says:

Dude. Just the mere thought of being there and seeing muse is amazing. They said that reading and leeds is the last concert they’lll do singing anything from Origin of symmetry

  33. PAULO says:

WHY DOES THE V FESTIVAL HAVE A LINE UP OF EVERYONE YOU COULD WISH TO SEE IN TWO DAYS AND FOR THE SECOND YEAR LEEDS HAS A LIST OF ACTS WHO WHO STRUGGLE TO FILL THE LEEDS ACADEMY ? WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO INDIE IN BRAMHAM PARK ? DISSAPOINTING FOR SUCH A GREAT VENUE TO NOT HAVE A LINE UP TO SET THE HEART RACING .AT LEAST THE PIDGEONS WILL PLAY THEIR HEARTS OUT FOR LEEDS LEEDS LEEDS !

  34. Paris says:

Liam sounds like he`s got a bead up his arse. The National, Strokes and pulp all in one day? yeaaaaaaaassss man

  35. Eugene Leatherhead says:

One Step Beyond will be the greatest moment of the festival!

  36. ka. says:

Finally getting to see Deftones. i’ve waited to long…
    <3

  37. Lily says:

seriously, where are all time low in all this?! they need to promote their new album thats coming out in june!

  38. Valencepoisonmcr1 says:

OMGZ WANNA GO ON SATURDAY LOVE EVERY ACT MCR ARE MY FAV BAND AND BMTH ORE AMAZING ALSO TO, TB, RA AND ARC’S ARE INCREDIBLE!!! BUT MY MUM AND DAD WON’T LET ME BECAUSE OF COST! DARN THE SYSTEM… DARN!!!

  39. j says:

as much as i dont like MCR i bet they will probably put on the best performance of the weekend (besides muse)

  40. Jordansboyfriend says:

Jordan likes to put his beef in my taco!! But i agree with him.

  41. shane69 says:

ha ha jordans comment made me laugh! twas a bit harsh like james says i dont think id go out of my way and throw bottles at them prob just move on to the next stage! You prob do still get people dressed all in black thinkin yeah im emo or whateva im cool bit like that turd on the last series of skins i dont compromise im metal!!!! i do like MCR myself but bit dissapointed with them headlining..oh well Muse and the Offspring all the way!!!!!!

  42. MCRmy says:

    @Jordan.
Just So You Know, I Am A HUGE MCR Fan And To Be Honest I Went To There Concert Wearing Bright Green Jeans. And I Wasn’t Alone. AND I Think You’ll Find Your The One Whining. Cunt.

  43. James says:

    @Jordan

How about instead of attempting to ruin things for the people who actually like certain bands, just focus on your own music tastes. And I for one don’t dress all in black, I dress normally, I just have a diverse taste in music. I’m not gonna go pelt Elbow with bottles just cause I think they’re boring as hell. I’ll just not go see them, as that would seem to me the most sensible solution. But clearly you’re a moron.

  44. easytiger says:

MCR r class! they were class at their recent uk tour, cant wait to see them again! as for us all wearing black…….think ur still living in the stone ages mate!!

  45. me says:

    Jordan u mad?

  46. Jordan says:

Nevermind all this talk of MCR. They’re fucking appauling, deal with it. Muse, Elbow, The Strokes and Beady Eye is where I’ll be! I really hope My Chemical Romance get pelted with bottles like 2006. They’re a shit stain on the music industry, and to make things worse are the devoted fans who dress all black and think they’re original. Fuck off you whiny cunts.

  47. Bluewave0142 says:

I’ll be taking a few bottles with me! Am pretty gutted that crystal castles and the strokes clash! Bad times! But all in all its a decent line, alot of bands that take me back a few years ago :) anyways bands are only half of the experience ;) The rest is up to yourself to make it a good festival ;)
