Muse, Pulp and My Chemical Romance to headline Leeds 2011
It’s official. After all the waiting, the line up is finally announced.
The Leeds 2011 line up was announced this evening and it is as expected (or leaked if you were watching our Facebook pages).
The headliners of the Main Stage at Leeds Festival are:
Muse (Friday)
My Chemical Romance (Saturday)
Pulp (Sunday)
Those paying attention will be asking, “Where are The Strokes?”.
Pulp and The Strokes are classed as joint headliners, with The Strokes headlining at Reading (with Pulp main support). The roles are flipped for Leeds where Pulp will headline the final night and The Strokes will act as the main support.
The NME / Radio One Stage headliners will be:

Beady Eye (Saturday)
Jane’s Addiction (Sunday)
The Festival Republic Stage bands are:
Peter Doherty (Friday)
The Horrors (Saturday)
The Midnight Beast (Sunday)

slightly disappointed as it isn’t as good as last year but i can see… -counts- minimum of 12 bands that i HAVE to see soo it’s still gonna be a good one again!

For me this lineup is amazing. Love MUSE, Strokes, 30STM, i mean i have heard of and could watch with ease EVERY band on mainstage on the Sunday (although I will be popping off for Bombay…)
For me this is 100x better than last year. And who cares if MCR are crap? So are Blink imo and they did a pretty good job in the end last year.
STAGGERINGLY GOOD??? i’d hate to see melvin benn’s version of an average line-up…i’m selling my ticket since this years is so disappointing. Next years better be OUT OF THIS WORLD to make up for it. not happy
Parts of this are good, but MCR?! I’m sorry, i thought we were getting ‘staggeringly good’ headliners? Well in my eyes, I was thinking a band like Green Day, RHCP or even Radiohead! Oh you missed Prodigy and Feeder on that list
how can that be classed as terrible ? Muse are widely regarded as a great live act, The Stokes and Pulp are fantastic festival bands who will have the crowds eating out of their hands.
Ok Saturdays not my ideal stuff but Leeds has always had at least one night of “harder stuff”. At least I’ll be able to go and watch the John Lennon tribute act in the NME if it all get’s a bit too rocking out there !
Can’t wait. Just squeeze The Courteeners in before the start and alls good
