How much are Leeds Festival 2010 tickets?

We’ve been asked what the price will be for Leeds 2010 tickets. So we’ve reviewed the price of weekend tickets over the past decade and come up with our guess for how much they will be this year.

Leeds Festival logo“How much are Leeds Festival tickets?” is a common question asked every year by would-be festival goers and this year is no different.

It’s only January and already we are being asked what the cost will be for attending Leeds 2010 as people start to budget and save up.

To answer this question we need to look back at previous prices.

Previous Years (2005 to 2009)

In 2005, weekend tickets were set at £125. In 2006, the cost of a ticket rose to £135.

A weekend camping ticket for Leeds 2007 would set you back £145 and for Leeds 2008 the prices again rose by a tenner to £155.

In 2009, Leeds festival organisers surprised everyone with a larger than expected price rise, but their gamble paid off and Leeds 2009 was a sell out and a huge success.

Weekend Tickets in 2009 were set at £175, an increase of £20.

Such a £20 per ticket increase was last seen in 2004/2005 when tickets rose from £105 to £125.

Leeds 2010 ticket prices

Based on the unexpected increase last year, it’s going to be harder to guess the price for this year. The official festival organisers could surprise us again…

However, because of the Leeds 2010 ticket Pre-sale (where prices were fixed at 2009 levels), it’s highly unlikely to go down – nor do I expect prices to stay the same.

We could get a token £5 increase, but my suspicion is that we’ll go back to the more usual £10 increase and we’ll see full weekend prices set at between £180 and £185 for Leeds 2010.

I expect day tickets to cost in the region of £75.

What do you think? Do you agree or do you think prices will be higher or lower than we suggest?

  1. davelms says:

Rumours tonight are that ticket prices will be £180 for camping tickets plus booking fees (usually £7). Day tickets will be £75.

If that’s true, then my post wasn’t a bad guess eh?

  2. Caroline says:

The leeds festival ticket price could go up by loads and i still would pay it. Last year was the first festival i had been to and it was brilliant so im defo going again this year. I doubt the line up will be as good tho and even if it was a load of rubbish i would still go cos the atmosphere is unreal and a weekend getting drunk with ya mates is what its all about.

It would be nice to think that the price of food, drink and tickets would decrease in price but its NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN. Leeds festival attracts thousands of people each year that are willing to pay the prices that they set so they dont need to put the prices down.

So ppl stop moaning if you really want to go you will cough up the cash!

  3. cooper says:

i reli dont have a clue how much im gona have to take wiv me, i dont care bout the price of tickets but beer and food is gona be well expensive!

  4. davelms says:

Hi Emma – you WILL know the headliners and some of the line up before you buy a ticket. The announcement coincides with the ticket launch so you don’t need to buy if you don’t like what you hear.

  5. emma says:

I think the tickets should be cheaper. Unfair to pay that much when we dont even know the line up

  6. Tilda says:

Does an early bird ticket get you access on the wednesday or the thursday?

  7. davelms says:

There are some rumours going around that tickets are being held at 2009 prices, i.e. £175 + £7 booking fee = £182.

  8. davelms says:

Early Bird tickets have always been set at £10 and there is not reason to believe they won’t be £10 again in 2010.

  9. Martin says:

How much will be earlybird tickets be in 2010?

  10. katie says:

you all know fine well guys the recession isnt going to be on their minds when they decide the price for a ticket!
if the demand is high enough, and still increasing, they’ll keep up increasing the price. its as simple as that. it has nothing to do with what bands play etc etc.
as far as they are concerned they can charge as much as they want, because they know fine well we will pay it no matter what, and its proven that we already have and will continue to do so!

so just deal with it guys, for as long as leeds fest stays popular and has an increase in demand, the prices will carry on rising!

  11. Louise says:

I guess I was one of the lucky ones who got them in the Sept-Oct 2009 pre-sale at last years prices then :)

  12. TJLH says:

Ticket prices sound good at £165
If the line up is ace then an extra 20 quid I guess some of us could spare, but I agree with the comments about food and drink! Daylight robbery!

  13. Bex says:

if the line up matches to the price, then it will be worth it to an extent…but i still think they shouldn’t be costing THAT much! considering how much is charged for food and beer – daylight robbery!!

  14. billy says:

    £150 Sounds Good!(Y)

  15. whoaa says:

what. i went to festivals before for like £25

  16. DirtyCherry73 says:

either way… the price is worth it, a full weekend of sex drugs n rock n roll?!? its like the best getaway ever…. i cant wait for this year, i hope some of the rumours are true.. blink 182 would be amaaazing!!

  17. k3zzaroo says:

I think ALL festival prices need to come down, Download, V, Reading and Leeds instead of raping young people up the ass!
Festivals need young people so stop hitting us where it hurts!
    Be fair!

  18. soultrader69 says:

Aw come on! Add together the individual ticket prices of all the bands you will see that weekend and you are getting a bargain! I do however agree that the mark up on just a cup of tea is bloody extortionate!!! With the banning of gas canisters last year, we spent about £150 more on just such things, like tea, coffee and brekkies. And as for the beer..being expected to pay nearly £4 a pop for TUBORG!!! is downright criminal :(

  19. Jane says:

The first time i went to leeds it cost me £75 for a weekend ticket. I hate how its gone up over £100 in the past 6 years :-/

  20. Not Haley says:

what happens on a monday at leeds like? unless you want to be roped in on the cleaning and getting rid of rubbish, then its probably free?

  21. josh says:

    take your own creats then

  22. Jake says:

I’d pay £200 for a ticket maybe more, thats not the problem. The problem is the £4 price tag for a pint! NOT GOOD! The weekend ends up costing between £400 to £500.

  23. davelms says:

I expect day tickets to cost in the region of £75 BUT… Monday is not a “day” at Leeds Festival. The music is Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

  24. Stacey says:

how much are the tickets for just the monday?

  25. Jaiden says:

It’s not exactly the bands that are making the prices go up because otherwise last year and the year before would’ve had to have been a lot more than this year will be because Radiohead, Arctics and KOL (or Metallica, RATM and well, maybe not so much The Killers but you get the point.)

Prices will continue rising until they notice a drop in attendance. It’ll probably be a while yet, but as much as it would be nicer to have it stay around the £170 mark, I expect it to level out much nearer the £250 mark in the next few years.

  26. Andy Esky says:

nahh its sweet, if you were to see each indivual band to would cost alot more so stop moaning you cheap b@strds!!

  27. Rachel Dore says:

OK yeh, students get loans but aren’t rich, and older people like me, 24, aren’t rich either. They should be FAIR, which a 100% increase in 7 years DOESN’T reflect. Keep it the same and cut burgers and veg meals and pints down by 50p!!

  28. M-A says:

Well I’m expecting it to be within the region of £180-200, especially since there are such big bands like Blink 182 rumoured for the line up this year. I mean, obviously it would be nice for it not to be as expensive, but they have to pay the bands, right?

  29. Karin (: says:

They are amazing prices guys. I suppose it’s all a part of the experience paying for your own ticket as a teen. Love Leeds fest. I’ll keep on going. Come on leeds fest!! (:

  30. Chris says:

What are you all on about!?
Bands aren’t cheap you know! If last years lineup is anything to go by then i’d pay up to £300 and im 18, i can barely afford it each year but i get the money somehow. why? because its one of the best festivals of the year and you have such an amazing time, drugs alcohol sex and music… what more could u ask for??

  31. Aimee says:

I was expecting the 2010 tickets to be about £200, so if they are that price, I will be perfectly happy! :D

These events cost alot to be oprganised for us, and I cant imagine bands are cheap to get onto the lineup.
You cant get things like this back, its a once in a lifetime thing.
People should take this into consideration before accusing the pricing system of being too high.

I CANT WAIT FOR LEEDS 2010! BRINGGG ITTT ONNN XD

  32. E says:

i reckon about £150, it’s pretty reasonable for the amount of bands what’ll be there but yeah it is a recession and it’s hard for students to pluck up that much money

  33. fghtffyrdmns says:

I was happy with the price of the ticket last year, as I saw twenty-six of my favourite bands for £175. If I’d been to see them all individually it would have cost me a lot more.

I’ll be happy to pay the same.

  34. Keely says:

That’s a ridiculous price!!! I want to go to a festival this year, and Leeds was definitely the way forward, but now maybe V, as that’s usually about £30 less! Doesn’t seem much but it is when you have things to buy!

  35. jess says:

i think that is too much ! personally i was will to pay about 150 to 160 but no more than that and there was a group of 8 of us going but we probably wont go at tht price

  36. Anneli says:

I think the prices should definitely be lower than that,

Young people MAKE festivals, and young people are poorer than ever.

And when you think about it you can go on a week long holiday for like £200.

At least make some “group” tickets. Like 4 people for £500 pounds or something.

Come on Leeds, give us a chance!

  37. Becky says:

It was £90 in 2002 as far as I can remember? or very near that! that’s nearly 100% increase in 7 years, well it is more when you include p&p! It would make sense if anything to stick! You can’t cheat those who have already paid, although I won’t pay that much!!!

  38. Jessie says:

I dont mind what the prices are, I dont pay. But I think they should include more for the price. Im not so bothered about the ticket price its more about the food and drink for me!

  39. Emma says:

prices are rising too fast its ridiculous! they’ve gotta go lower sometime soon!!

  40. Elliott says:

They said last year had gone up so much cos bands abroad cost more due to the recesion. It wont go down in price but cos were coming out of recession i reckon itll stay the same at £175

  41. davelms says:

Does anyone think they will go lower than last year’s price?

  42. Lauren... says:

LOWER!!! i dont thiink i will be able to afford that :O

  43. soph says:

lower!!! its hard for teenage students to get that sort of money on their own!! LOWER.

  44. Dasss says:

They should be cheaper than that!
    more like the 2005/2006 prices
no one has money anymore thanks to the recession!

  45. davelms says:

Well, you never know. Last year was a surprise, especially within the context of a poor economic climate. They could surprise everyone again, but I doubt there’ll be a price drop because they’ve already run a pre-sale incentive at 2009 levels.

  46. Jess Button says:

    There should be group prices!!

  47. ARTHUR KILLS YOU WITH A BROOM says:

IT’S A F***ING RECESSION! DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE ECONOMY YOU TWITS?

  48. ARTHUR KILLS YOU WITH A BROOM says:

NO I WANT TO SEE CHEAPER PRICES YOU TW@S!

  49. Han says:

I am happy to pay that much as long as the line up delivers. If the price increase means the whole experience is improved then who gives a damn?????
