Leeds Festival capacity to rise to 90,000 music fans
The capacity of Leeds Festival is set to rise for the first time since 2006.
Organisers of the annual Leeds Festival are planning their first increase in site capacity since 2006, when an increase of 5,000 took the site to its current day 70,000 limits.
Leeds Music Scene have today reported [link] that Festival Republic will increase the capacity to 90,000 over the next 4 years.
The increase will be gradual and be set at 5,000 extra tickets per year.
Leeds Festival tickets are on sale in March 2011 to coincide with the official line up announcement.
We are currently running our annual Leeds Fest Rumours page so join in and have your say.
If you have any comments about the increase in capacity, please leave your views below. Do you think the site is too full or do you think the extra numbers will add to the atmosphere? Tell us below.
Seriously?! I mean yeh the atmosphere may be ebtter, but in Enter Shikar, Mumford, even Blink at the main stage it was pretty crushed. Would an extra 20,000 people really make it better, personally I really don’t think so. If they are adding more, only if they give us more room!
