Don’t buy from touts!
As we wrote in our earlier topic “Don’t Panic!” we would also recommend that you do not buy from ticket touts or on eBay, and certainly, do not panic now and rush to buy a ticket on the secondary market at hugely over-inflated prices.
If you are desperate to get your hands on a ticket, use a site like Scarlet Mist…
Festival Republic have produced a document warning about buying from touts which is worth of a read.
It’s slightly contradictory though. On one hand Festival Republic say that tickets are not transferable and that their security checks will prevent you access if you buy a ticket from a reseller, or on eBay, etc.
On the other hand, Festival Republic recommend that you should use Scarlet Mist to buy & sell surplus tickets, which would suggest that they are OK for tickets to exchange hands if it’s ethically done… which is fine but it would suggest there is no security check.
So the two statements coming out of the festival organisers are a little confusing and somewhat contradict each other.
My recommendation would be to never buy from a ticket tout.
And before anyone asks about another batch of tickets… there wasn’t a second batch of tickets last year and there are no suggestions as yet that there will be any released this year. If 200,000 tickets have sold then that’s going to be pretty close to the limit. If we hear of anything, we’ll let you know.

I bought some from there but the payment never went through on my credit card, and after thinking about it it looks really dodgy so I ended up cancelling my card… You can buy 30 tickets at a time, they’re never sold out (at £180 as well), there’s no address or phone number, you pay through some sort of hungarian thing and even though they’re meant to ‘reply within 24 hours’, I still haven’t recieved my reply in over 4 days…

I think a second batch already came and went, my sister got some. (She didn’t tell me, grrr!) There was a second batch last year because I got two extra tickets that way. But this year I seem to have missed out. I am looking for 3 extra tickets for friends… anyone got spares that they are trying to sell? x
7 May 2008 | 18:58
No second batch yet.

Hello i have got my tickets from Xclusive tickets.com is this a good company.

Sonya - just had a look at that site and it doesn’t seem to sell tickets… it’s just a list of advertisements to websites that do. It may have done previously, but assuming the site is the same as it was, then your transaction is more than likely to have been with another company. Looking at the list of advertisers, they’re all working the secondary market.
To everyone that bought through the secondary market (touts) - you may be OK, you may not. Some people get their ticket OK, some don’t. It’s very hard to answer questions on whether you’ll get your hands on your ticket if you’ve gone through and paid a ticket tout for your ticket. You hear the scare stories, but equally, people do get their tickets as well.
As for questions about ‘what to do’… read that PDF from the festival organisers:
