19 February 2008 | 17:53
i think the tickets should be released at least a month after the line up is announced.
this just gives people time to get the money together.
19 February 2008 | 18:50
Why not start saving a month earlier?
19 February 2008 | 19:04
woah, in that case i have A LOT of saving to do!! :S Hope they change it to sliiightly later…
19 February 2008 | 20:50
the tickets go on sale on this date dont they? our is it just the line that gets announced???
19 February 2008 | 20:53
In recent times the two dates have been the same.
As soon as I find out which date is to be used for the announcement, I will update this page with the details. At the moment, I’ve been told w/c 3rd March by venue organisers and later on in March by the festival’s press agency. Once the actual date is decided I’ll post again.
19 February 2008 | 22:23
can i ask why do the tickets go on sale at 7pm at night
how come they not on sale in morin
if ya ge me lol
19 February 2008 | 22:37
Because the announcement is at that time.
19 February 2008 | 23:08
haha here’es a chance to laugh at someone ….what do you mean by w/c? am i being a complete idiot? (im tired……….)
19 February 2008 | 23:10
“week commencing”
Every year that I can remember, it’s always been on a Monday.
19 February 2008 | 23:31
are they still gonna be £145 fo the weekend or will they go up?
20 February 2008 | 10:45
Tickets go up by £10 each year so this year should be £155. If it is 3rd March that means they willl have announced the line up before V for the first time ever.
20 February 2008 | 12:51
Hey im startin to panic cos i dont know wen tickets go on sale and worried that i will miss them, i cant remember how i found out wen they went on sale last year so i dont really know wat im doin… anyone in the same position??? :s
20 February 2008 | 15:46
17th march is st patricks day (in ireland) so any irish people would be annoyed if tickets went on sale then
24th march is easter monday
so the 3rd or 31st is probably what it’ll be :]
20 February 2008 | 21:03
@ lessoninromantics - good spot! I’ll post again as soon as I hear more. Like I say, have received two answers from those close to the organisation of the announcement (this is usual due to the two-date planning that goes on), and as soon as something more definite comes up I’ll post again.
21 February 2008 | 13:33
hello…..
can someone please tell me where do you buy tickets from is it see tickets or ticketmaster…… im confussed and how is best to buy them on internet or via phone….. help……
Also do u have to do what glastonbury do and send a pic in…..
Michelle
21 February 2008 | 15:01
if it is the 3rd they are going on sale before V festival and hopefully we’ll get an announcement of some kind in the next week if it is :]
21 February 2008 | 19:33
i forgot to put, theres also the 10th March which isn’t a bank holiday!
21 February 2008 | 21:51
@michelle - both seetickets and ticketmaster have been official ticket outlets in previous years. As has HMV. There’s never been any ID requirement, like with Glastonbury, no.
24 February 2008 | 2:30
wen do the tickets go on sale???????
and how much????????
24 February 2008 | 9:45
@anonymous - please actually read the article and the comments, the answers are contained on this page. Current plans are that tickets will go on sale sometime in March (with some indication over potential dates) and prices were £145 last year and likely to rise by a tenner or so this year.
24 February 2008 | 13:09
come on My Chem ^__^
i HAVE to o
im so going to leeds this year, if it kills me
24 February 2008 | 13:32
i think they’ll be announcement of when tickets are going on sale either tomorrow or the monday after (3rd)
24 February 2008 | 17:58
hi
does any one know like what time the annoucement will be about like??
24 February 2008 | 18:10
In previous years it has usually been announced between 630pm and 7pm live on BBC Radio One. Tickets (as far as I remember) go on sale straight after the announcement at about 7pm.
24 February 2008 | 20:49
anyone know the exact date? and can u pay on someone elses credit card?
25 February 2008 | 10:39
yes u can pay on cred card but u will need 2 give their name
25 February 2008 | 11:11
Not yet no. Yes you can as long as you have their correct address( and permission!)
25 February 2008 | 11:33
I think everyone isn’t realising that the 10th is a monday aswell, so that could be a possibility too? I have a bad feeling it may be the 3rd though, maybe to compete with other festivals? I.e. Glasto. I think everyone better get saving… It definitely won’t be the 17th cause of St. Patrick’s day, everyone will be on the lash.
25 February 2008 | 11:34
I doubt tickets will be going on sale on the third. If they do, they’re leaving it incredibly late for an announcement.
25 February 2008 | 18:30
unless there is an announcement tonight at 7pm on the zane lowe show i don’t think it’ll be the 3rd they go on sale, the 10th is more a possibility as V festival is on sale the 7th so it would be after that
25 February 2008 | 18:39
i’ve been told to look at this http://leedsfest.org/tickets and that states that the tickets go on sale 19th March 7pm… I hope ticketmaster get tickets coz my bro in law is manager there but is away till wed so cant ask him help me… But when i type it in the search thing its not even saying its an even they are holding tickets for… HMMM all confussed!!!!
When can you go there if u get tickets to camp ? wed i want it be a week of druken behaviour.. haha
25 February 2008 | 18:54
@michelle
i think that site is just guessing though, because if you look under where it says 19th march 2008, it says 19th march 2007 and all the ticket prices are for 2007.
everyday i just keep hoping for an announcement now
haha
25 February 2008 | 19:31
@ Michelle - yeah, 19th March was the 2007 date (see the top of this page as I mentioned this in the original article). It’s a good idea to monitor several sites, and Tom’s site (the one you listed) is very similar to this one, so I’d recommend you keep your eyes on both. Also, sign up to the eFestivals and similar sites (and the official mailing list, of course) just to cover all bases… one of these will announce the date first, and others will quickly follow.
Trust me, when it becomes known, you’ll hear about it from everywhere! You won’t miss the date, it’ll be on loads of sites.
Another tip: sign up to Google Alerts… and choose a term like “Leeds Festival” then you’ll get all the latest blog and news entries from around the World.
25 February 2008 | 20:39
i heard that radio one are announcing the head line on the 7th of march then the tickets go on sale 30 mins later this could be a line but i dont know
25 February 2008 | 20:43
I just think its dead weird like they just suddenly say tickets are on sale book em while you can.. I dnt understand these festivals wats point in makin this hard why cant they just sodding say well tickets go on sale….. I work full 24hr shifts n im gonna miss out at this rate coz i’ll be working… AHHHHHHH IM soooo stressing out me… Im not gonna get a ticket i can see it coming.
Ta for advice i’ve set google alerts
U know even if they gave us a day to play with like say tickets go on sale tomoz… Even Glastonbury aint this hard…
25 February 2008 | 21:16
@Michelle… there’s always more tickets released at a later date… AND… returns. The official outlets like See Tickets will usually have the “sold out” signs showing very early and then more tickets will be available the next day and so on for about a week. This happens because credit cards get refused, etc. You’ll find that tickets (despite claims of it selling out) will still be available for around 7 days. In previous years, additional sets of tickets have gone on sale during the summer as well as they hold back a certain number. And finally, the packages (weekend tickets including travel) are usually available all the way and well into the summer.
25 February 2008 | 21:17
@taaffe - I’ll see if that’s confirmed.
25 February 2008 | 22:05
7th march is the same day as V festival goes on sale though, and isn’t that a friday? cause the zane lowe show isn’t on then it would probably be some dance show and i don’t think they’d announce it :-/
25 February 2008 | 23:37
i think its too early, and that the lineup should be announced much before the tickets go on sale.
26 February 2008 | 0:01
what happend to the count down like last year? seems weird for nothing to have been said. and what happend for it always being on a monday.
26 February 2008 | 8:32
Got a further non-update kind of update last night and they’re “still just trying to tie down the exact date”.
Based on that, it’s unlikely to be March 3rd. The Leeds venue(s) have suggested early March and the press agency have suggested late March. As someone pointed out, there’s a Bank Holiday in the mid-late. I would bet on it being 17th.
26 February 2008 | 10:44
I got a message from a friend last night saying tickets were going on sale 3rd March. Don’t know where he got his info from but he usually knows what he’s talking about.
26 February 2008 | 11:25
17th is st patricks day though.. unless because of that they on sale on the tuesday the 18th?
26 February 2008 | 12:52
Yeah, Press Agency just got back to me: “still being arranged, looking like it will be the last week of March”. The 31st is a Monday?
26 February 2008 | 15:11
i think they’ll be an announcement of when they are going on sale on monday, that’d be around the same time it was announced last year aswell then. 31st i think is pretty late.. seeing as V is going on sale on the 7th.
26 February 2008 | 19:39
will radio 1 have any infomation of when the line up is going to be announced?
26 February 2008 | 19:41
Yes, if previous years are anything to go by.
Radio One usually broadcasts the announcement of the headliners and main bands on air at about 630pm. Tickets usually go on sale straight after at about 7pm.
26 February 2008 | 20:48
My godd im so scared incase i miss the date!
Just listen to radio one every monday dudes coz thats your best bet of finding out of when they will be on sale!
Wooo roll on leeeeds (H)
26 February 2008 | 21:04
In previous years, I’ve always heard of the ticket sale date confirmed at least a week before they actually came out, so I’m pretty sure it won’t be the 3rd, it’s too soon. They’re not stupid enough to release tickets on st patricks day. I’ll put my money on either the 10th or the 31st
Not that I’m stressed anyway, because I’ve already got a ticket *haha* but I know other people who will want to go… And I’m excited to find out who’s on the lineup!
26 February 2008 | 21:28
so if radio 1 are not making a big fuss about it yet then they will probably not be on sale for a few weeks yet? and when they do start pushing the topic be on your toes for them to come out ? thanks
26 February 2008 | 21:52
hopefully they’ll announce ticket details and everything on monday, with it being first monday in march. (they did last year anyway)
26 February 2008 | 21:58
thanks for the help
27 February 2008 | 19:45
Ithink they will go on sale later than the 3rd of march cos no one has heard anythin, im startin to get a bit anxious now cos no one seems to know anythin
If i dont get a ticket it will be the end of the world!!!
I really dont have a clue how to find out when they will go on sale so im kinda dependin on other people to let me know, and im sure most people will be greatful if the people who can get info will keep us updated
I hope everyone gets a ticket
27 February 2008 | 22:12
will zane just announce the headliners
or will he list evrything?
coz that would probablu take half an hour
why is it soo confusing???
27 February 2008 | 22:23
@Tom - the first announcement is usually only a handful of bands (including headliners, of course). The remainder of the line-up is revealed throughout the months after.
28 February 2008 | 0:24
how confusing is all of this…??
i have jus read like everysingle one of these messages…
and sofar ive got that the tickets are gna be £155
to listen to radio one THIS MONDAY Coming.
so that u can hear if anythings announced
but we think its gna cum on sale most probs the 31st march??
jeez i well want tickets im gna have to be on the all maytee…
28 February 2008 | 12:16
dave,
do you think they’ll be an announcement about about how much tickets are gonna be on monday?
28 February 2008 | 12:57
so its the last month in march now??? iam confuseed
28 February 2008 | 18:43
@lessinromantics - not sure, as far as I can remember, the ticket price announcement has been at the same time as the line up announcement.
@ste - last week in March is the statement I got from the press agency organising the press launch event. However, feeling is (from a number of sources, including the venues hosting the press launch event) that it might be earlier than this, so keep your eyes on this thread because I will keep it up to date with the latest statements being released from those organising the launch.
28 February 2008 | 19:06
ahh right, yeah i just looked back on this site and it was only when the tickets were going on sale that was revealed last year on march 2nd. if it’s same this year that should be revealed this coming monday, with it being the first monday in march
28 February 2008 | 19:08
Ah ok, I’ll see. They may announce it when they let everyone know when it’s going to be announced. It’s daft that we’re waiting for the announcement that merely tells us when the announcement will be
28 February 2008 | 19:52
haha yeah i’ll just be glad when they’ve revealed what date they are going on sale
28 February 2008 | 20:09
we all know its going to be such an anti climax when they anounce the date
having said that
ROLL ON MONDAY :D:D:D:D
28 February 2008 | 22:17
it so is gonna be an anti climax haha if they announce when they go on sale on monday, then we might still have to wait 2/3 week til we can actually buy tickets!
28 February 2008 | 23:16
whenever they go on sale tho ppl will know about it and if you dont get them this time there is plenty more opportunites for those people who are worried about not getting a ticket. almost guarenteed everyone that wants a ticket will eventually get a ticket. im more worried about gettin a tent than a ticket to be quite honest
29 February 2008 | 14:38
stop stressing =)
29 February 2008 | 21:22
how much are the tickts goin to cost ruffly
29 February 2008 | 21:40
