Tickets update…

Well… what do you know, the official Leeds Festival website has had its first update in years and in so doing Mean Fiddler appear to have brought forward the launch for the event by one week (based on their announcement only last Friday).

The announcement will now be made on Monday, 19th March at 6.45pm.

Tickets will be available from 7pm on the same night.

I’ve had a few more details about the date change.

It seems Monday, 26th March was always the first choice date and that Monday, 19th March was in place as a backup or ‘reserve’ date … to fall back to. Mean Fiddler had sorted all the logistics for press, ticket sales, etc, for both dates, so they could essentially use either date.

I don’t yet know the reason why, but Mean Fiddler have had to use their backup plan, almost right at the last moment. Which in a way is good news for us, because we get some real news and some of you can go out and buy your tickets!

Although, I hear some people are moaning that bringing it forward causes them an issue as it’s the wrong side of their monthly pay…

i was really surprised that they brought it forward but actuallyits a good idea. and thats davelms if it wasn’t for this web site i wouldn’t of knoiwn because its really heard to find the official site on google

Yeah I agree, this site’s mailing list is a total godsend, I’m too out of it to check the official site everyday so receiving emails when there are updates are fantastic!

I am desperate to get my hands on tickets because not only do I want to go more than anything after last year which was totally fantastic, but also I promised my sister a ticket for her birthday as well and so I’d hate to have to tell her I couldn’t get them, and for her to be dissappointed!!

A bit stressed though because bringing the date forward is making it much more difficult for me to afford it, I might have to beg the University for a temporary loan *fingers crossed* XD xX

hello, how long about does it normally take for tickets to sell out?

  7. davelms

Check the earlier “tickets” discussion, I answered this question on there. It’s not a straightforward answer !

The earlier discussion I refer to:

is there anywhere does a waiting list or is it just luck?

  10. davelms

I’ve not heard of waiting lists. However, the tickets are usually sold in phases with more tickets released later in the summer. For the summer release, they sometimes work on a waiting list basis. For the March 19th batch of tickets, I would assume it will be first come first served.

The HMV issuse. i today phoned birmingham HMV and was told they dont sell mean fiddler and never have. I no this isent tru because i know sum1 hu has brought tickets last year from HMV. could n e body pls help me?

  12. davelms

It may be true that the HMV in Birmingham doesn’t sell the tickets.

However, many HMV stores around the country do sell Leeds Festival tickets - or, at least, HMV stores have sold them every year so far, up to and including last year.

By the way - it’s unusual for the announcement from Mean Fiddler (i.e. next Monday) to reveal which HMV stores will have tickets. Given you’re not local to Leeds, I would recommend you buy via online stores or over the phone.
