Topman Unsigned Stage: line up revealed
With the fabulous setting of Bramham Park as its backdrop, the Leeds Festival sees the exclusive headline trio of Franz Ferdinand, Muse and Pearl Jam take to the Main Stage over the weekend whilst the festival has a special local significance as Arctic Monkeys and Kaiser Chiefs fly the local flag on the Main Stage.
The incredible richness of the current music scene in Yorkshire sees a host of bands from the county across the stages with Forward Russia, The Cribs and Duels on the Radio One / NME Stage and The Pigeon Detectives, Milburn, The Sunshine Underground, Bromheads Jacket and Little Man Tate on the Carling Stage.
Staying on the local tip, the Unsigned Stage returns for its second year following a very successful introduction in 2005.
This year, Topman are sponsoring the stage and have been scouting the region for unsigned bands together with BBC Raw Talent and Sandman magazine. Hundreds of bands have sent in demos for the chance to play at the festival. After a difficult judging process, all three partners, in combination with festival booker Neil Pengelly at the Mean Fiddler, have made the difficult decisions and picked the lucky acts that will take to the stage over the weekend.
Bands confirmed for the Topman Unsigned Stage so far are:
Topman Unsigned Stage Headliners
Friday 25th August – STONEY (from Sheffield)
Saturday 26th August – POLYTECHNIC (from Manchester)
Sunday 27th August - VIB GYOR (from Leeds)
