gutted to youuu saturday is the worst day mwuhahahahahahahaha

  2. Iz says:

Ah cheers Matt! Only managed to get a Sat ticket and i really didn’t wanna miss out on some punk! not too fussed who plays so long as its gooooooood! x

  3. jimbo says:

the line up seriously needs to have sumit done to it i mean yerrr its good to have the indie stuff but u also need the heavy rock stuff aswell, so theres still loads of bands to be announced bt if their shit liek the half the line-up now then i will not be a happy chappy

  4. James says:

I think this years line up is good, All three headliners are awesome ! I wouldnt mind seeing Pete Doherty, he was mint last year and so were mystery jets. Also wouldnt mind seeing Kasabian they are very goood. I think this year will be a good’un :)

  5. Lex says:

I hate the Leeds line up….. blah blah blah, its not even fully announced you PRICK, go back to sucking on mummies titty you moron. Gaslight Anthem Fuck Yeah!

  6. TJ says:

Worst line-up in a long time. I have been going to Leeds for the past few years and this one I wouldnt even consider a day trip. The only bands worth seeing are Prodigy and King of Leon and have seen them both anyway.

As some guys have already mentioned, Leeds is all about a mix of music, apprantly not this year. Hopefully some decent bands will announce otherwise its 2010.

  7. davelms says:

    Thanks for the links.

  8. davelms says:

    What’s the link?

  9. Matt says:

Err yeah thats what i said.. leeds is a mix of all sorts, and yeah i did say indie.. but to have 3 indie headliners is a joke… but if what im reading on other site is right…… FAITH NO MORE!!!!!!!!!! Bring it on bitches!

  10. Sting says:

I can’t believe the amount of people becoming angry about the lineup this year! As 1 muppet explained when he said ‘I’ll pull rank here’, Leeds festival is an alternative festival which means you could get anything from Rock, alternative rock, heavy metal, punk rock, indie rock, dance and probably some weid folk in there somewhere by some crazy fool. Yes this year has gone more down the indie scene than possible previous years, but look at previous lineups featuring headliners like Travis, Eminem, etc, sometimes Leeds does something different. If people just want heavy metal, then sling ur massive ego hook to Download with the grunges and try n find your testicles over there!

  11. longley says:

the courteeners are shite and should never have the opportunity to play before ian brown!!

  12. longley says:

would prefer prodigy playing after arctic monkeys
hopefully muse are special guests, would like to see blink aswell

  13. Matt says:

The Concrete Jungle used to be a Sunday (often with the vans warped tour involved) hwoever its now sat and sun and is called the lockup (more radio 1 influence!) Who would you like to see?

  14. Iz says:

does anyone know what day the concrete jungle is usually on?! x

  15. Lex says:

    Here Here Matt!

  16. jimmy says:

line ups not bad atm but it could do with some heavier stuff.
    then itll be mint.

  17. GazH says:

Get the national signed up, one of the best live bands around bar none!!

  18. Matt says:

Right im gonna pull rank here, ive been going to Leeds for the best part of 10 years and Leeds has always been an ALTERNATIVE festival. i know alot of you indie kids and scene kids will like the line up this year, but there are many other festivals in the uk that play this kind of dross (V; T in the Park etc..). Leeds has always been about Rock/Metal/Punk thrown in with bits of indie and dance etc.. but over the last few years the radio 1 influence has taken over and is really starting to kill the line ups (despite last year being on of the best ofr along time). Im really just hoping the concrete jungle announces some big punk bands to save this weekend, im thinkin NOFX or Rancid.

  19. angie .B. says:

lets have some GLC they are ace man lol or a bit of De la Sould would just deffo make the weekend the best 4 me!!!

  20. Lex says:

Botsy…. Serious? That sounds like a lot of hard work for the boys, but how amazing would that be??? Theyd go down in festival history for sure

  21. guzzler says:

iam keeping everything crossed that greenday are to announce ! i havnt seen them since the gig at milton keynes and they were out of this world! that would make the festival for me !

  22. Botsy says:

    Totally agree lex
But I have heard that biffy go mainstage and duke on NME

  23. Lex says:

Special Guests are going to be about ten more different bands. Brand New played the year before last and despite there studio recordings being pretty good their live show needs a kick in the face to liven it a bit. Fingers crossed for Marmaduke Duke this year.

  24. Steve says:

Yes! They’ve actually confirmed a good headliner for the NME stage! Oh, wait, it’s on Saturday at the same time as the only good headliner on the fucking main stage! So, as it stands at the moment, the last band I will be watching this year is either Kings Of Leon or Jamie T……. Nearly as bad as closing on the Killers last year. Except the previous 2 days had been awesome so I didn’t really care last year.

  25. jonni says:

    LOSPROPHETS CONFIRMED!!!!!!!!!!!! YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  26. Lew says:

this will be my third year going, i love indie music but still go to leeds, 2007 was all about kings of leon for me they were the highlight, last year was about the biffy clyro but didnt enjoy it as much as 2007, this year will be immense prodigy !!!!! and i think sunday will be awesum, i just hope its dry and really hot will make a killer festival!

  27. Jessicaaa says:

if you want ‘heavy’ music, go to Download or somewhere?
i’m giddy brand new are on, but the main stage will be too big, cause a lot of people who go leeds wont like them/have heard of them.

  28. Sting says:

Who were ‘special guests’ last year anyone?
Also my mate said he’d seen somewhere that the Darkness were playing? Is there any truth in this or is it a load of bull?

  29. dunndunn says:

tbf the line up does’nt rock as much as the past years but maybe the whole thing having lighter stuff may have a different effect on leeds??? lets face it last years line up was immense but this years is’nt as bad as what people are making it out to be!!! I think the line up is still good and may have a different effect on leeds. Also the only bands that are actually still making music really that are heavy are metallica, ac dc, tenacious d, slipknot etc and most of them played last year so its not like you can have them again, although its been like bloc party’s 3 maybe 4 year on the row which really they should’nt do, not like there a bad band or anything but they are there again and they should have chose someone else, but having heavy stuff every year will just be boring. I think its a good change on the line up.

But tbf fall out boy should not be on there!

  30. catherine, says:

the killers was shiteee last year!
best headliners i’ve seen in agess!
and bloc party play every year ’cause they’re immeennnsse!

  31. 06/07/08 says:

“Great line up. Its about time the heavier shit made way for the proper artists”

    GTFO?

    Kaiser Chiefs are awful
The Gossip?! You have got to be kidding me

I thought friday was meant to have at least some heavy stuff, right now it seems that Leeds in entirely Indie, which sucks.

Maximo Park- 5×5 = why the hell are you playing?
Ian Brown- stupid mank prick, hasn’t done anything remotely good since stone roses
    The Courteeners- average
Enter Shikari- shit outdoors, will kill atmosphere, they were great in nme tent
    Eagles Of Death Metal-shit

Why do Blocparty have to play every year?!

  32. Alex says:

A little disappointing the line up this year. I’m r8 unhappy that radiohead are headlining, its like shoot me now.

  33. sarah says:

can someone tell me WHY the arctic monkeys are on after the prodigy? as it doesnt make sense to me

  34. Riley says:

You know, I would’ve gone had Muse been announced. Kaiser Chiefs are pretty incredible, but all the rest of the lineup is fluff. Maybe next year.

  35. batman says:

special guest are the ting ting’s
class can’t wait yeah yeah yeah
bum me bum me bum me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  36. davelms says:

There’s still loads more bands to be announced though.

For me the best bands are generally those revealed after the launch week. Some great bands start off low down on the NME Stage or over on the Festival Republic Stage.

  37. jhjl. says:

this year’s line up is a peice of crap the olny good band that is playing is KINGS OF LEON and ARCTIC MONKEYS the rest are shit last years the best line up ever i mean THE KILLERS were ace.

  38. sweet87 says:

please please please let the special guests be blink 12, ive seen them before and they were great, be so good if they did, would mkae my first festival experience evern better =) il keep my fingers crossed

  39. matt says:

i hope so much that the special guests are either blink 182, greenday or muse
that would just improve the lineup so much from what it is at the minute

  40. NI says:

    prodigy what a band :)
better than all that indie rubbish :p

  41. Charlotte says:

    THE VIEW
    THE VIEW
    THE DUCKING VIEW!

  42. Natman says:

    awful line up.

the beauty of leeds/reading was that it had a bit of everything- heavier stuff along with the indie, which was good. a nice combination.

as of yet, the only heavier stuff is main-stream bullshit, whilst indie appears to have taken over the rest. wank. worst one yet.

granted, more bands are to be announced, but as of yet… piss poor.

  43. Ben says:

The line up is pretty poor this year. The tickets haven’t even sold out yet compared with the hour and a half or so last year.

And granted, Radiohead might not have the crowd hopping about like little gays like the other two headliners, but they’re the most established and probably the most original and innovative band there so well worth a watch.

Disappointed Weezer weren’t announced as well, always time though.

  44. matt says:

nme stage announcing more acts next week

  45. davelms says:

Apart from bands that self-confirm I don’t think the next announcement will be for a month or two. After that it’s usually every few weeks over the summer.

  46. Botsy says:

Does anyone know roughly when next lineups will be added to the bill?

  47. longley says:

any ideas who special guest is..?

  48. t9ddles says:

Great line up. Its about time the heavier shit made way for the proper artists
