Leeds 2010 Line Up: rumours round up

Now that our visitors have left nearly 500 comments with their Leeds 2010 line up suggestions and rumours, we’ve written a short round up of the most requested and most rumoured bands set to appear at Leeds this year.

Our Leeds 2010 Rumours thread has been a very hot topic this year and there are now in excess of 450 comments, rumours and fantasy line ups for Leeds 2010.

While we wait for the official Leeds Festival 2010 website to reveal the headliners for this August – which you will be able to read on our dedicated Leeds Festival 2010 Line Up page from March – we’ve dug through your rumours and those listed on some of our favourite festival sites to come up with our mid-January round up. Here’s what you all seem to be saying:

Blink 182 and Green Day have both been very strongly tipped for a place on the Leeds listings after European tour dates were announced for the summer. And while faked Green Day screen shots claiming to confirm the appearance were copied like wildfire across music websites, the US band could still be a very good tip.

Also mentioned consistently in your rumours are The Libertines, Strokes, The Killers and Kasabian, plus an appearance by either Foo Fighters or Them Crooked Vultures – our thoughts are that it is likely to be latter after the band made a secret appearance at the Reading and Leeds Festivals in 2009.

Florence & The Machine are featured in many of your tips for this year, and we could see them make an appearance on either the Main Stage or NME / Radio One Stage this year. And a tip that we’ve added ourselves – but not many others seem to agree – is Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. And how about a return to Leeds for Blur?

Finally, a lot of you seem to be wanting recent headliners back again with Kings of Leon, Rage Against The Machine and Radiohead mentioned often. Very highly unlikely we’d say.

What do you think of our round up? Leave a comment here or on our Leeds Festival rumours page.

    You Me At Six,
    Paramore,
    Muse,

  27. Ian says:

Aye I think Biffy’ll play, would love it Weezer played as well, seen them last time they did the festival and they were fantastic!

On the smaller stages Dart Player Fashion, that’s who I’m hoing to see. Absolute phenomenom up here in the North East, look out! On the off chance anyone else on here saw them the other week at the Head of Steam, you’ll know what I mean!

  28. Loubieee says:

    Pleaseee no radiohead!
I do hope paramore will play at somepoint…
i think the maccabees have self confirmed at a gig too! (so i got told)

    - id have loved to see oasis if they were still together -
    Friendly Fires
    - Milburn should have never broke up, otherwise id have spunk on em lol –

So many bands that could be there, i just dont like bands like you me at six – american emo or scene shit is a load of bollocks lol

  30. Bex says:

I hope Placebo don’t play again. They can sod right off! Paramore would be awesome to see play this year <3 Green Day and Blink 182 would be a mega MEGA bonus…

  31. Mick says:

Gorillaz, The Strokes, Florence, Paolo and Arctic Monkeys.
    Thats all I’d need.

    Blink 182
    Stephen Gately
    dillinger escape plan
    Dart Player Fashion
    Deftones
    Micheal Jackson
    your casket or mine

…but not Placebo, for reasons mentioned in another comment.

And DEFINITELY NOT you and me at six, as they are the single worst thing to happen to music since R Kelly.

  33. Angela Rippon says:

    I hope the following play:

    Blink 182
    Dillinger Escape plan
    Micheal Jackson

    Coldplay
    Chase & Status
    Kasabian
    The Killers
    Newton Faulkner
    Vampire Weekend

    oooooo that would be amazing

  36. Jonny says:

Anyone think KISS might headline? They made a sort of comeback. They’re touring in May + haven’t really done much apart from Download in 2008.

I’d like to see Lostprophets headline too (slim chance though seeing as they headlined the radio 1 tent last year)

Foo’s are a good shout but I think TCV are in full swing so doubtful about that

It’s a bit ‘out there’ but if Tiesto headlined (or at least played) that would be amazing!

Other bands I’d like to see would be Biffy, Mastodon, The Damned Things, Them Crooked Vultures and Stone Sour (Seeing as they’re playing Download).

  37. Ashley West says:

Did I hear right that Courtney Love may be gracing us with her presence this year?

  38. For the love of god..NO!!!!!!!! says:

Why, oh why, oh why would anyone want Placebo back at Leeds AGAIN?!

I’ve been going to Leeds Fest for the last 10 years and I am sick to death of seeing them on that bloody line up poster.

And it always rains when they play!

Can’t we give someone else a chance on that “nobody is watching” 5 p.m. afternoon slot?

  39. steph says:

the libertines, the strokes, kings of leon & arctic monkeys (preferably the first two)

  40. mikey says:

    biffy

  41. Sherry// says:

I heard SOAD will be der, anyone else heard this? IMHO my best lineup:

    – Linkin Park
    – Lostprophets
