The internet is already running wild with rumours for 2010 headliners for Leeds Festival. So what are your current favourites and who would you put your money on?

With the announcement for the Leeds Festival 2010 Line-up now just six months away (!), there is plenty of time to publicise your guess and take all the glory next March when you are found to have been correct.

Failing that, why not just put your fantasy headliners… either way we’d like to hear from you!

Your Comments

  1. Nerazzurri says:

    rumoured dance lineup looks class

  2. Big B says:

    Mcfadyen,
i would like to say on behalf off any Leeds Fest lovers: STFU!
stop chuffing moaning and grow a sack!

  3. Dan says:

    @ G…

There hasn’t been many specific rumours about Soundgarden, but they are tipped to be playing American festivals this year. However, they’re still down as a rumour on the efestivals website, which is usually pretty reliable, so there’s still hope yet!

And I reckon that if they don’t make an appearence here this year (I think they would be headlining if anything) they’ll definitely be there next year – similar to what happened with Blink.

  4. Rocky says:

I agree about Blink. How the hell are they even thought of as headliners? Just cause they’ve not been around for years and their drummers got a bit of fame doesn’t mean they’ve suddenly turned into a brilliant band. E-festivals has Guns n roses and Libertines rumoured. For me they’ll need to pull that off to save it this year otherwise it’ll be the worst line-up I’ve ever seen.

  5. bob says:

word on the strees is that QOTSA could be a potential? has anyone else heard of this? please Smite Me, O Mighty Smiter. I hope the rumours are true like because there shit hot

  6. Ollie says:

anyone heard if,or think that Deadmau5 will be playing again?

  7. Mcfadyen says:

What is it with you people and Blink 182?! Last time they played they were utterly rubbish and I doubt they’ve got any better – I certainly wouldn’t say they were anywhere near worthy enough to headline the main stage! They’re just has-beens, playing repetitive three chord soft US ‘punk’ – at least Green Day can play those three chords without f**king it up (though they’re still just a soft US punk band too)!

And Leeds/Reading is supposedly an INDIE festival (though, traditionally, it’s supposed to be ‘rock’), not a chuffing pop-fest: so calls for Pixie Lott should be ignored! Get thee to V if you want that kind of tosh.

Mohammed, I think you’re trying to be funny. Ha ha.

If facilities at Donington were better and getting out of the car park wasn’t such a horrendous nightmare, I’d be going there – the line up is awesome! Leeds has largely been a let down (with the exception of Metallica and RAGTM) for years now – it doesn’t seem to be able to make it’s mind up as to whether it’s a rock, pop, indie or whatever festival so wallows about in between, picking up the scraps other festivals leave behind.

Reading used to be THE rock festival: it was prestigious and had it’s own audience – what happended? :-(

  8. Ian says:

Sick of it All, Snuff & The Mahones please, and also can we have NO emo bands in the punk tent

  9. gov says:

THE STROKES- i would give my right arm for them to be there.

  10. leah says:

^ ‘Leaked’ (could be a fake so obviously don’t take as definite) Poster. Add in QOTSA, Gorillaz, Florence & the Machine and Faithless and it would be perfect for me. (They’re all rumours I’ve heard) This poster doesn’t seem to be full yet, so hopefully more big names to be added!

Loving that MGMT and Ellie Goulding could be there. Also Gogol Bordello were amazing last time I saw them (2006 Leeds Fest).

    EXCITED!

  28. Jack says:

All i ask is Biffy Clyro, Blink 182 and YM@6

  45. Secretslie says:

30 Seconds to Mars would be awesome, though they’re already playing Download (and T in the park?) and Oxegen, though I’m not sure if that has any relevence.
    Madina Lake would be *epic*
    =D

  46. Jelly Bean says:

    30 seconds to mars… please? :)

  47. Dan says:

    A post on leedsfest.org…

    http://www.leedsfest.org/2010/03/queens-of-stone-age-for-leeds-festival.html

…suggests that Queens Of The Stone Age might make an appearance? Now I know Josh Homme is meant to be working with Them Crooked Vultures at the moment, but he clearly hasn’t left QOTSA on hiatus with these shows, and it seems pointless just doing two Europeans shows… I reckon they could nab the third headline slot over MCR, leaving Arcade Fire and Blink to make up the other two. And Leeds Fest likes getting exclusive performances, so why not QOTSA?

Also I’m still hoping for Soundgarden, they’re still down as a rumour on the efestivals website, so that still means they could get a headline slot on another stage!

  48. tom says:

    Get Metallica back!

  49. Eddie says:

Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Creed or Alter bridge, Paramore, Nickelback, Exodus, Gary Numan. A mix of music.
