Significant changes to travel directions for Leeds 2009
Festival Republic have issued guidance to drivers for accessing the site this year.
Things have changed quite a bit for 2009!
All drivers wishing to access Leeds Festival this year must approach the site via the A1 or M1. And this is the same whether you are travelling from the South, North, East or West.
There will be no general access to Leeds Festival from any other route.
This means there will be no access for drivers coming from the City Centre, Leeds Ring Road / A64, Junction 46 of the M1, or from the A58.
Drivers approaching the site from other directions will find their routes blocked.
All cars must enter the site via the A1 junction with the A659.
The only exception to this will be on Thursday 27th August when cars will also be allowed to travel Westbound (towards Leeds) along the A64 from the junction with the A1. However, this route will be closed off for the rest of the weekend.
Organisers Festival Republic have produced maps for drivers which can be downloaded here.

Personally, I’d get the shuttle bus back. There are loads of them and they keep going after the gates have closed. You’ll not be stranded and it’ll be cheaper than trying to get a taxi.
i have a day ticket any idea about taxi,s .the price from leeds train station to the festival and is it easy getting back to leeds center as im staying in hotel , iv got visions ov been stranded in a feild .lol.
Cannot 100% remember. Used to be about a fiver each way when it started, but I think it may have crept up slightly over the years.
Something in my mind suggests it might have been £7 (one-way) when I last used it.
hi does anybody no how much the shuttle bus costs???
Yeah, that’s a recommended method. There will be a regular Shuttle Bus between the Festival Site and City Square (outside the train station).
I have no way to get to leeds this year, does anyone know if i can get a train to leeds, then a bus to the festival??
pleaseeee email me to let me know.
