When exactly can you arrive at the campsite?

A few people have emailed me over the last week asking when the campsites open and when the main Arena gates open.

So for the benefit of all our visitors, here goes with the answer.

Campsites

To the best of my knowledge the festival campsites will open to normal weekend pass holders at 3am on Thursday 27th August.

And while that it might be a little dark to put your tent up at that time, you will get a really good spot if you arrive early. Don’t forget to bring a torch!

Road traffic usually builds up from around 11am on the Thursday morning so you should aim to be there by 9am or slightly later. If you can, not only will you miss the worst of the queues but you’ll manage to get a good pitch too.

Getting there on Thursday is also a good idea as the organisers usually put on some pre-festival entertainment – last year it was a Dance To The Radio showcase with The Pigeon Detectives headlining. Such festivities are usually announced in late summer.

If you have purchased an Early Bird ticket this will get you into the campsite from 6pm on the Wednesday evening so you can get your tent up in the daylight.

The campsite will close on Monday 31st August and you usually need to leave by early afternoon.

Arena Gates

The Arena will open at 11am each morning (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) although the gates are sometimes opened slightly later if the site needs to be cleared or pre-day checks haven’t yet completed.
