Leeds Festival 2010 – tickets, line up, rumours

Looking for accomodation over the festival weekend?

If you bought a day ticket you might be looking for a hotel to spend the night. The festival shuttle bus leaves throughout the day from City Square and hotel room prices are currently low.

Although weekend pass holders get camping included, if you bought a day ticket this does not entitle you to access the campsite. So one question we get asked every year is whether we can recommend somewhere to stay for the night over the festival weekend.

While finding a room may not be an issue for all ticket holders, not everyone lives locally and some people travel great distances to come to Leeds for the festival. A couple of years ago I had to help a couple from Eastern Europe find a hostel room for the weekend.

Shuttle Bus

When you’re looking try and make sure your hostel / room / hotel is to Leeds City Station, because the closer it is the easier it will be to get to the festival site as you can make good use of the festival shuttle bus.

The bus sets off from City Square regularly throughout the day and the last bus back into the centre of Leeds is at around 2am.

Hotel Sites

If you’re someone that likes others to do the leg-work for you, we’ve done a bit of digging at Hotels.com and we’ve found the following hotels with rooms available close to the city centre.

Prices at both hotels are currently £51 for a double/twin room – and for two sharing a room that’s just £25.50 each.

These are the cheapest rooms we’ve found and at £25.50 per person you’re unlikely to find much better!

But if you do, let us know and we’ll help everyone out with planning their weekend.

Is there any realy chip hostel – for about 10 £? Don’t need to be luxury, just to have a shower and place to live clothes.

Is there a timetable for the shuttle buses? How regularly do they go from the city centre to the festival in the day, and from the festival to the city centre at night?

Pay the driver. I haven’t seen the prices advertised for this year, but you’ll be looking at something like £5-7 single, and £10-15 return. The reason for the range is because my mind is completely blank re: what I paid in previous years. I *think* a return was £12.
