Bands beware! Organisers warn that MySpace site is a hoax.
Festival Republic, promoters of the Reading and Leeds Festival, are keen to alert all festival goers to an unofficial site on MySpace.The site, calling itself Festival Unlocked, claims to be a competition for unsigned bands to play at this year’s event. The site has no link with the festival and none of the bands will be on the bill via this site.
Reading and Leeds Festival is totally committed to new unsigned talent and this year will see the combined forces of BBC Introducing, BBC Raw Talent, Sandman and Futuresound choose three days worth of acts to play the BBC Introducing at both sites.
Full details of the bands appearing across the weekend on the BBC Introducing Stage will be issued soon.

I’m a member of one of the bands ’selected’ to play at this year’s festival (The Sticks). Obviously, we’re gutted to find out that some nob thought it would be funny to do this!
